I don't know where you learned math but according to the stats you linked to for Denver:
3,700 people/sq mi X 16 sq mi = 59200 people
$600,000 / 59200 people = $10.14 / person
Not $1 or $2. Allowing for the fact that not everyone will sign up (such as children) and some people will share a connection and $16 is pretty reasonable.
As an alternative to hardcoding a delay in the authentication code, the mainframe where I work will lock an account if there are more than 3 failed login attempts in a given day. You then have to call the help desk and verify who you are before they will unlock it.
I agree. If I spend time writing a program I have the right to decide how I wish to distribute that program - for a fee, free binary (no source), open source, etc. As the author I have that right until/unless _I_ decide to transfer my rights.
Stallman has completely lost it. He's moved beyond advocate and become, as you so accurately put it, a zealot.
I wish him well trying to knock down those windmills.
I don't read every article but I do scan the summaries and even I could tell this was a dupe. It takes all of about 5-10 minutes a day to scan the summaries. Plenty of time left to eat and sleep.
We should stop calling them "Anonymous Cowards" and start calling them "Anonymous Idiots".
I've been using GIMP on Windows for over two years. Apparently you missed the "GIMP for Windows" link on the main page of the GIMP website. It must be tough for you when things are hidden in plain view.
Since you probably haven't mastered the mouse yet try clicking --> here
I'd say running Internet Explorer is more like pulling your pants down and screaming "rape me" in the middle of the exercise yard of a maximum security prison.
And that workout won't cost you a dime. Here are the complete rules in case anyone wants to start a new chapter:
The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club. Third rule of Fight Club, someone yells "Stop!", goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule, only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule, one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule, no shirt, no shoes. Seventh rule, fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule, if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.
You could always electrolyze water and store the hydrogen and oxygen in tanks. The tanks of gas become your battery and a power cell can be used to generate electricity on demand.
[putting down beer and doughnut]
Now that's just plain rude. As soon as I find my touque you're gonna get yours.
...and they tip the hat to one side when they're ready to PAR-TAAAY.

Sorry I wasn't able to deduce your knowledge of the myth or humourous intention from your three word sentence.
Just like lemmings.
Hate to burst your bubble but lemmings don't commit suicide - http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/lemmings.htm
Have you ever heard of a dependent clause?
:D
Is he related to Santa Claus?

Actually in the U.S. its "checks", "cheque" is the British spelling.

Bastard.
Or pennies per donut. Just think how cheaply we could send Tim Horton's coffee to the ISS.
It depends on the partner. :D

Well...maybe not for you.
They're holding out for the BFG2000.
And don't forget about Nova. She was the hottest animated babe ever, even hotter than Betty Rubble.

Related to that, "Build a computer that even an idiot can use and only an idiot will want to use it."
