Does Barnes and Noble give me free 2-day shipping and a huge library of free streaming movies and TV shows for $40 a year?
Since TFS is about Amazon, one would expect that the unnamed company you are referring to there would be Amazon. But since Amazon Prime is $99, I have to ask, what other company are you talking about?
People who oppose the death penalty on the grounds that it kills innocent people are making the implicit claim that it's somehow not just as bad for those innocent people to rot in prison forever, which is a horrifically barbaric ideology in and of itself.
Um, killing innocent people is worse than imprisoning innocent people. Don't get me wrong, imprisoning innocent people is wrong, and I support the idea that it is better for 1000 guilty men to go free than it is to imprison a single innocent. But to say that the killing of innocents is equally as bad as the imprisoning of innocents implies that, if someone were to ask you to choose either life in prison or execution for yourself, you would respond with something like "I don't care, flip a coin, they're both equally undesirable".
revenge is a deadly sin (as in: "cannot be forgiven") for a reason.
While I agree that what happened is wrong, basing ones argument on religious reasons will never work. Because seven simple words will completely deconstruct your argument.
Since what tastes good varies between people, I think the results of any such study would merely be able to conclude that they taste different, not that one tastes better than the other.
I had a similar experience the first time I tried organic milk. I didn't know it wasn't the normal milk I usually drink, but I did notice that it tasted different. Not bad different, but not good different either, just.. different. It wasn't until several weeks later that I actually started to have a preference, but that preference is not static. Some days I prefer the organic stuff, some days the regular stuff.
As I understand it, Overrated/Underrated give no specific label. So someone who starts at 0, with one Troll mod and 6 Underrated mods, would appear as +5 Troll.
That is assuming that the second/third wave colonists are even capable of stopping along the way to pick up the first wave. And that they are capable of pinpointing the first wave's exact location.
Do you think there are ANY weapons which should be restricted in terms of private ownership?
Under the current laws, yes. Because if you allow an exception for one amendment without going through the proper procedure to change the constitution, you have just created a loophole that can be used to circumvent any amendment.
I see the need for SOME limits.
I see the need for some limits too. I just don't see the need to circumvent the constitution to implement those limits. If it is dangerous enough, surely there will be enough support in the various government bodies to follow the proper procedures that are in place for amending the constitution.
beheaderaswp wants a firearm to get from Point A to Point B, in the event that Point A becomes dangerous. It seems reasonable to assume that, once at Point B, they would want to keep their firearm in case they need to move on to Point C for the same reason they left Point A.
If God did indeed make the universe, then the universe itself is the ultimate testament to truth (whatever that is) - not a book - for the universe alone was authored by the hand of God. To deny it is to call God a liar.
Isn't that basically what some groups do? Specifically, I'm thinking about the groups that claim their god put fossils in the earth to trick us, but I'm sure there are others.
Instead, you get fighting over little Timmy spending more than his fair share of the funds attached to the account. Or are you able to tie one account to multiple devices, while each device has its own wallet?
"a la carte" in terms of cable subscriptions means paying for only the 3 channels you actually watch, instead of being required to subscribe to a package of 200 channels to get those three channels. I don't know that that is really comparable to a per-minute rate on a cellphone.
If you misconfigure your wireless access point and leave it open, does that mean that it should be legal for anybody to connect to your network and download all the files from your NAS without penalty? Including *those* pictures of you and ____ doing _____ to _____, and your tax returns from the past 5 years?
Yes. You wouldn't blame the recipients if, instead of a misconfigured wireless access point, it was your crazy ex who still had a key who was giving out free copies of those documents, would you?
And if someone instead let me in, let me look around, take pictures, and it later turns out that person was your crazy ex who still had a working key to your house?
In particular, if the door is unlocked, that doesn't mean you can walk into the building and take photocopies of everything you find there, then publish the documents.
This isn't an unlocked, unsupervised door to a building, this is your crazy ex who still has a valid key holding a garage sale while you are out of town. The people perusing the contents of your home looking for items to take/buy didn't know the crazy ex did not have the right to let them in.
If you're gonna be rude, you might want to check your facts first. Amazon Prime for students is $49 per year.
But perhaps NotDrWho simply mistyped the price. I hope not though. I was hoping to learn about other alternatives to Amazon Prime.

Is it? I don't actually know, which is why I am asking the question. Can "locked in" people feel the pain associated with not breathing?
Put up a beware of Doug sign
The only thing that sign will do is make burglars nostalgic for The Far Side.

"My religion does not have that concept."

You could always pull out the Knife of Exact Zero and make some cuts to the piece.
By the way, what's a wedge shaped wing ramp?

I'd like to see paraplegic culture go away, blind culture, Amputee culture, and furries culture.
Erm, what? Are you saying that being a furry is a debilitating condition that we need to work on "correcting"?

No, he's still right. Wouldn't you have liked to know that such a thing was possible before you attempted it? ;)
Absolutely no fighting over sharing.

If you are a daily commuter, wouldn't you have a monthly pass? Or does BART not do those types of things?
unless the other side believes that it can win.
Or the other side doesn't care, and just wants to watch the world burn.
Every woman would simply say "I'm nice, I'm not going to abuse my position." And that leaves you...
to reply with "I wasn't talking about you."
And, if the reply is "that would never happen," or "that's so rate as to be inconsequential," then it's not you who is the sexist.
That kind of reply sounds more like it would be born of naivete than of sexism. In other words, it also is not the replier who is sexist.
But I guess it would depend on the tone that it was delivered in.
I don't know if they could "engage" it, but they could probably "experience" it. ;)
