Again, I did not realize that you were talking about giving ones keys to a drunk/thief. It's an easy concept to understand, I was simply stating that I was unaware that that was what we were talking about.
Since the power of Judicial Review is not expressly granted to the Supreme Court by the Constitution, this power is "reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." It is not the Union judiciary's responsibility to give power to itself or to its neighboring branches.
And if the States are not bothering to fight it, is it really an illegal action? In theory, yes. In practice however, I think you'd have a hard time convincing those in power of that fact. That is where your view and the view of everyone else falls apart. You talk of how things are in theory, we talk of how things would and have played out in the real world.
Yes, obviously if I give my keys to a thief, then insurance would be within its right to deny my claims. But I figured we weren't talking about me giving my keys to a drunk.
While a quick check of Wikipedia does not reveal anything about cyanide, I'm still not sure what point you were trying to raise with theaveng. How is me being free to do stuff to my own body in any way related to me being free to murder individuals?
Awesome, so now my insurance company can refuse to pay out on stolen vehicles because "it's my vehicle, it's my responsibility to keep thieves from stealing it"?
Your account name is your email address. While it may be true that there are more password variants than email address variants, there's still a heck of a lot of email address variants. You'd prolly have better luck just trying "password" on every single email address variant.
As for your backyard, you have no expectation of privacy there.
My fence/shrubs/trees disagree.
If I make no effort to keep out prying eyes, then yes, I have no right to complain about you or anyone else watching, for example, my nude sunbathing. But if I put up a fence, make precautions so that any normal person would expect to be able to walk around their backyard without being seen, why shouldn't I expect a little privacy?
Should have mentioned this in my first post, but I did try googling those screws/screwdrivers, and the only things I found were articles about them being used on the iPhone. Didn't even find a pic of what they looked like.
Also, half the time, they've changed flash card formats and your old one won't work with the new camera anyway.
And now you need to worry about finding/keeping a device to read those old cards.
My first camera used CompactFlash cards. My second (and current) camera uses SD/SDHC cards. Had I just kept everything I took using the old camera on CompactFlash cards, I would have to make sure I could access a CompactFlash reader whenever I wanted to access those old pics. Probably not too big a deal today, but not something to forget about.
I don't understand what you were trying to say with that. I'm not saying carbon credits are the answer. Only that, unlike papal indulgences, it is for something that exists. It can be measured, graphed, observed. If we're doing a poor job of it, that's an entirely different issue. But the fact remains that, unlike a soul, carbon exists.
Except for one major difference. Carbon credits are for something that we can actually measure. We have the capability of determining how much carbon one particular activity expels and how much another locks up.
Now whether or not carbon credits are an accurate reflection of how much carbon is locked up vs expelled, however, is a whole other issue.
Meanwhile, those of us that realize there's nothing fucking wrong* with it will continue to use our flashcards to play the games that we bought and paid for.
*Just because something may or may not be illegal, doesn't make it wrong.
Sorry, I didn't realize you meant just the SD streams and their DVD counterparts when you said "The streamed content is nowhere near the size of the data on a DVD". Thought you meant all streaming content and just used DVD to mean the amount of data that a DVD is capable of holding.
Only problem with streaming titles is anything from STARZ just plain blows chunks. If it's not cropped to fit a 16:9 or 16:10 screen, it's cropped for 4:3.
The streamed content is nowhere near the size of the data on a DVD.
Maybe it's just the particular titles I browse, but I'm noticing that many streaming titles are available in HD. And while I have no actual numbers to back this up, I imagine an HD stream is closer to DVD size than your "nowhere near" would seem to suggest.
Ah, did not notice that part. Sorry for ruining the joke.
How hard a concept is this for you to grasp?

Silly me.

At which point the tax payers demand this shit stop.
Ok maybe not. But I can dream, right?
Oi, on the new /. interface, I couldn't even tell there _was_ a link in TFS until your comment made me double-check.

It's a standard, and you can buy the screwdrivers without much problem.
Not according to TFS...
Of course, only Apple-authorized service technicians have Pentalobular screwdrivers and they're not allowed to resell them.

And don't get me started on the dumb mandatory updates on the PSP.
Wii has them too. I don't know if the 360 does though, mine always updates through LIVE so I have no idea if the discs also contain updates.
Can't you turn it off? I know there's a control to adjust the 3D effect, and I thought turning it all the way down turned off the 3D?
That's nice.

To watch it someplace that may not have a reliable connection?
Because you happen to like the bonuses that some DVDs contain that you can't get streaming?
Because you pay for your connection by the (mega/kilo)byte?
I'm sure there are plenty of other reasons to keep a local copy.
You could always try walking upstairs and asking your mother to ease up on the streaming ;)

So you presume that there will always be 2 drivers available in all situations where you need the extra space. Thank you for clearing that up.
"Everyone should buy this car."
"That's a great idea, but not everyone can get away with such a small car."
"Buy 2 then."
What?
