    What exactly is it that you right-wingers think George Soros does, that inspires so much hatred? It's amusing that you Fox News disciples seem to think that just uttering the man's name means a lot to the rest of us. It doesn't. The only time I've seen any examples of what he's supposedly so bad for, was when Glenn Beck tried to claim that Soros helped the Nazi regime (when he was a child no less), which is utterly stupid, along with false. When you look at what he actually does, he is a pretty solid fighter of communism, and fascism in Europe

    Because Norquist is fine with that. He's out to protect the top 5%. Guys like him whine that someone who makes 12,000 a year doesn't pay the same dollar amount as a guy who makes 1,200,000 a year, so they love draconian flat tax plans.

    No, in fact, they are not. When the Democrats are putting social security on the fucking table, and Republicans still won't give in on tax cuts for the top 1%, I"m not even sure how you can make that claim unless you're not paying attention, or paying attention to Fox News.

    The sad thing is seeing people, even here in this thread, arguing in favor of reducing the middle class down to third world levels. No talk of fair trade, just that everyone should take a pay cut to compete with slave labor.

    And if it weren't for Phoronix "advertising the problem" it most likely still would be sitting there, not getting attention. So you've lost complete respect for them, because they highlighted a problem in Linux, that needed to be fixed, and it got fixed?

    You can argue of semantic word games all day, but for a lot of users a "problem" was fixed. It might not have been a "bug" "in" Linux, but the end result was that battery life under Linux suffered, and that has now been fixed.

    Yeah sure thing, that's why the same card works flawlessly when just using ALSA. The only systems I've had problems with that card are ones that use Pulse Audio. Remove it from the equation and audio works fine.

    It depends on what version you're using. They also have a rolling release version based on Debian Sid.

    Pulseaudio is the worst. I never could get it to work with a Creative Audigy sound card. I just had to laugh when someone said "It's not going to work on every exotic configuration!". Yes... Because we all know how exotic Creative Labs sound cards are.
