    When L4D2 shipped it was, in fact, using the latest version of the Source engine. At some point they updated TF2 and the HL2 episodes to that version.

    I use Arch, so I'll always have the choice on exactly how I set up my desktop. Personally I don't see a need for Unity. I'll just use Gnome-shell when it comes out. Although I'm starting to see why some people in the FOSS community are starting to view Canonical in a negative light.

    I'm not sure I'll be cheering for the private sector, over NASA, anytime soon. If you think those guys wouldn't take government money, you're high, and I'd rather see that money go to NASA than some guy that will ultimately use it for self-enrichment.

    I didn't say they were perfect now, just that they were massively improved, which they are. I'm using an HD5770 and the drivers from the past two months have been awesome. They even fixed the tearing issues with the Tear Free feature in the control panel.

    Since AMD took over ATI, their drivers have massively improved, even in Linux.

    Anyone ever read crackpots for fun? I've read Richard Hoagland's website a few times over the years, for laughs, and this sounds like the same type of "hyper-dimensional" bullshit that he claims to have "discovered". I love science, but this type of bullshit has to go. Unless there is some observation they've made, or some data they can point to, this isn't much different than Hoagland just making shit up.

    I'm not sure anyone can give you a specific example but look at it this way: Know exactly how and why particles have mass, seems like a fairly fundamental thing to understand about the universe.

    I know a guy that recently switch to Mac from Windows for his photography business. He was annoying. Posting about how amazingly stable his Mac was on his facebook page a few times a week. Then he had some hardware problems crop up in his machine. Haven't seen much shouting from the mountain since then. :D

    I know. The malware selection for Linux is really behind the rest of the world. I tried to infect my Arch install for hours on Saturday with no luck at all... Really a bummer!
