I have tried to help android users who had plenty of memory on phone and on card, and still run into the dreaded 700mb wall, making the phone virtually broken since there was not even space for the android system upgrade... (and that was after moving all possible apps to the other part of memory or card)
Several others i know are using old 8gb iphone 4's which keep running as long as aren't filled with photos, so 16gb is absolutely enough provided you "only" use a dozen normal apps and sync all your photos and movies to the cloud, so only thumbnails are left on the phone
The ingenious webcomic Freefall is currently all about the problematics of robot and ai interactions, funny and wise, it gives an array of suggestions and ideas for which kinds of thinking can be useful or risky, it is worth reading from the beginning

1) First, to avoid total chaos, make a strict year-month-event structure of all photos and use name of place if no event!...
2) Picasa is the ONLY program that automatically lists all photos without any import/export and database, and all tags you add in Picasa are stored on the photos, edits are stored too if you press the blue save icon, which copies the originals to a (hidden) subfolder.
Picasa also has a great face recognition engine, in preferences you must turn "save nametags to photo" for this to make sense!...
1b) Optionally, after sorting into event folders, you can do yourself a real favour by auto-renaming all your photos; I use Hazel for mac to give my photos the name 'event+month+date+year+time+iso+cameraname+filename' (from foldername and exif), then i can search for any event/place, know if it is likely to be noisy (high iso) and avoid duplicate finder programs or people accidentally deleting photos with the same name...
The renaming program should look into subfolders so all your files can be renamed at once, after setting it up and testing:)
* by eating 30% less meat the difference here would be gone, and western people would have a healthier life too
* by eating only vegetarian food, there would be more than enough organic produce for twice the current world population
* by using permacultural and forest gardening principles the global soil, water and biodiversity will be sustained, while providing an amble crop for a low meat, vegetarian or vegan society
the biggest breach lately is by far the sony playstation, in the cloud
the place with most personal data is now facebook, in the cloud
the personal emails are in typically in the cloud
documents and address books are going to the cloud fast
while a phone may get stolen or lost, the big things are on the net
an easy solution about mobile devices are to have the data be wiped when away from the user, and then just pull what is needed back when the user is close
chrome laptop is one example of this, and new phones could be made the same way, could easily respond to an rfid chip in the clothes or purse
back in the days apple newton was sold at all stores; it was pretty useless and doomed with a heavy pricetag!
i tried android tablets, no update and no external keyboard option, only for one samsung model so you are stuck with that brand; if there was a standard for periferials that would cause more trust, when all tablet producers make their own confusing interface and block updating of course there will be lack of trust.
the ipad is simply very good hardware and very good software (not perfect, alas!) coupled with a functioning ecosystem of apps grown from iphone while keeping the same connector so most thirdparty devices are working, spreading trust in users.
palmpilot was once the main pocket computer on the market and destroyed by everchanging models with different interfaces and stiffened innovation, had they kept to the slow and steady development that apple do, we would all be seeing palms now (their interface is still faster for looking up appointments, adresses and taking notes than the iphone)
Picasa saves all tags and geotags in exif at once
Faces can be saved as tags!
First let picasa index faces, then create a tag for each person and select each group of pictures with each faces to tag the person
And use graphic converter for advanced exif handling
This is so beautiful, it is a physically manifested April Fools joke which will hopefully vanish at midnight, kudos to/. to making the obvious april fools entry into a hilarious frightening reality:]
Darths and droids has succesfully made me overcome my star wars traumas and even feel happy with jar jar binks and anakin;
start at the beginning here: http://www.darthsanddroids.net/episodes/0001.html
Warning: after this you will never be able to see star wars in the same way again;)
As seen in the many postings replying to the link, the problem seems to be windows 7 using the battery "design capacity" value which in many cases are wrong, thus making the warning and possible causing haywire in the charging system
Thus it is a real issue with many new batteries of various types and m$ is flatly denying it without reading the possible solution and test suggestions in the comment thread...
After my first 3 years in state school i was homeschooled for 3 years, and learned much faster and more than my former classmates, when i went back to school i had become used to the quiet and effective learning, and was totally shocked and outcast in a rough, tough, loud and unnatural world with awful food and daily beatings.
Although getting brilliant exams i had to quit university and society due to the traumatic years in the state school, later reading the "sudbury valley school experience" i realized how absolutely unnessesary the forced schooling system is and the "highly sensitive person" theory i now support all kinds of homeschooling or private schooling with the knowledge of the vast differences between each child and how children can seem perfectly happy while being forced into submission, physical and mental torture
this "feature" sadly is the default in countless web forms, several are the times i have accidentally deleted what i wanted to submit, especially since the two buttons are often at differing positions...

a compassion based captcha might even asure that the human has good intent (and if droids evolve emotions, true compassion would mean it is complying to asimov ruke zero and wouldnt harm humanity)

>There are no questions that can't be answered by a computer (and which can be answered by a human mind). The Church-Turing thesis has some validity: the human mind is no more powerful than a turing machine, and ultimately, computers and our brains are equivalently computationally. There's nothing a computer can't solve: there are just things we haven't figured out yet.
When you include dells one pound gold brick power supply, the adamo is 5 pounds, equal to a normal macbook including power
For $2500 the macbook has 2.4ghz with 4gb ram, dvd drive and 256gb ssd harddrive plus osx, backlit display, magsafe and isight
Tell me again why i should use dell trying vista 64 without graphics card?
small usb drives are perfect to put inside geocaches, especially as first find - any nice cc photos, music or even programs will do as gifts, and google earth links or clues for finding other caches will be really interesting too (then you can have the usb key be a permanent part of the cache, so the finder may have to bring a laptop on the trail:)
I am surprised that google docs is so big, even the size of 1/5 of oo users is pretty amazing, as i have always regarded it as an experiement (beta;) but now i have been using if for shared documents a year and it has just the right size and usefullness for most of my needs, when i am online.
Using a mac i naturally use iwork, which imho is way and above any competition - fast, userfriendly, iphoto integration, useful themes and very easy to use, only been missing dual column editing - and cheap!
I am very happy about the ads that automatically suits my emails (or friends emails, and often have used them, way better than pictures or random ads - and if you want to get rid of them then just use firefox and the google enhancement plugin
I specifically like itunes because it has/few/ settings and fully supports my ipod (touch) with adress book, calendar, bookmarks etc
I just copied my osx ipod library onto my friends vista, merged the artwork folder into her old artwork folder and told itunes to add the new music folder, it works perfectly (albeit way slower on vista than osx;)
But the dead rat was removing missing songs, as itunes still cannot sort by (!) so i selected all, in info set rpm to 42 and sorted by rpm, now the missing files were at one end, fully deletable;)

i still get headache from using any mobile phone, news would be when a phone can use light instead of radiowaves!!

ipod ram needs high speed and reliability; look up the price of the good sandisk 32gb sd card; more than 200$

yes, i have had to resort to this method several times, using different editors, notepad strips the hidden codes from word (now i use mac:)

Funny that vista has come as ballmer took over...
