there is one thing europe and japan is really far ahead of the states and thats wireless communication. Just look for any UMTS Devices in the USA, they are coming in England in May 2001 and in Germany in 2003...so these things could be real...

  4. Re:State of AI on R2D2 (Kenny Baker) Replaced with CGI for Ep2 · · Score: 1

What i was trying to say was that it looked like a real robot, just as real as all the x-wings looked like a real spaceship and as jarjar didnt look anything like a real alien...

  5. Xactly on R2D2 (Kenny Baker) Replaced with CGI for Ep2 · · Score: 1

...i think i read somewhere that R2D2 was a big trouble during the shooting of ep1 and i bet thats why they replaced him finally. but it was always FUN to watch him move, because it looked just like a real robot. CGI just isnt impressive and it aint cute because everyone knows its cheap. It just lacks detail and soul. And star wars finally will look like x-men, or matrix and all the other cgi movies that are impresive but boring. george, u better retire!

Id suggest youd take a look over here at Munich in Bavaria. Al major tech companies have their headquarters here such as Sun, Apple, IBM, Intel, and even Microsoft :P. There are also a lot of Startups and Publishing Companies related to the Internet, Linux or PC-Stuff in general. We are desperatly looking for young motivated IT-Professionals and i bet youd find a nice team in no time. Whats more: The lovely little Town with 1Mio. Citizens is also the Beer Capital of the World featuring such funny events as the Oktoberfest or the Hofbräuhaus. Munich is Germanies first Adress for Hightech and InformationTech so youd sure find a good place to work over here...looking forward to seeing you! Lispy

  7. alcohol based timetravel! on Wormholes? Maybe. · · Score: 1

Hey thats exactly how i wanted to build my timemachine a few years ago! It was sth. like this: One would need an infinit amount of alcohol. Then sit down in a bar and start drinking. Time seems to pass realllly slow in the beginning and when it comes to closing time it just flees in no time. If you could simply use this effect by travelling backwards and forwards in time by boozing infinitly youd have an alcohol based timemachine...err...its late i betta go to bed...

I can imagine some situations where the OS better not be Windows. For example in a hospital or in my Bank. When suddenly all my money disapears for some unknown Win2k Bug i swear this could get pretty vital 4 me!! I think software bugs can kill just not as directly as a car can, maybe! regardz

  13. This made my day! on Pratchett's 'Good Omens' On The Big Screen · · Score: 1

Pratchett is one of the funniest authors alive and "Good Omens" is one of my favorites. The only problem is that hes so freaked out that I believe its hard to bring it on the screen! But Terry Gilliam is a brilliant director, and in "Brasil" he showed was he can do, so he might get it right! Good news...this century seems to get exciting, finally!
