maybe dell is cheaper because their quality sucks?? i bet the macbook will last much longer than the dell and will have lesser hardware issues the question is: are you willing to pay $600 extra for that?
No, he addressed what you wrote quite well. But I'll go even further:
iOS, the "locked down, walled garden" that it is, is SIGNIFICANTLY more free for most people than something like Android or Linux in general. What good is the small bit of additional "freedom" to people who can't benefit from it?
That's the problem with fanatics, they only see things in black and white, and only from their point of view (which is why they can pretend grey doesn't exist).
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
your big cracking times are misleading, because you haven't factored in dictionary attacks. 'green peppers allow access' would probably be ultra-quick to crack.
its completely opposite here in india. public school teachers are paid significantly less than private school teachers. the infrastructure in govt run schools is pathetic, the teachers callous and undedicated. also i don't think that a class consisting of smarter people does not need good teachers.
the technology already exists, what you want is a new implementation. if qik can upload live video to youtube, it can upload live video to anywhere else.
in win7 you get TWO warnings before execution of a downloaded file. one from explorer and the next one dimming your desktop and everything and making an annoying 'ping'. everyone just clicks 'allow'. i think its highly unlikely that an osx user would click 'deny' in the same situation.
google did a very visible ad campaign here a few months ago. billboards, television, internet, everywhere. and right now, every 2 out of 3 people i know uses chrome.
agree. firefox is, right now, even worse than ie9 in every regard. except it has tree style tabs. that is the only reason it is still installed on my pc.
below is my reply to the "9 Reasons why Miro is better than what you have now" on their website: 1."Works with your current music library" really?? well, my current media player also works with my current music library. how is miro better?
2."Converts and syncs to Android" i just pop out my x10 mini's 16gb microsd card and then its all just drag-n-drop. btw, drag-n-drop is better when you have just 16gb space and your music library is huge.
3. "Buy Music and Apps inside Miro The Amazon MP3 store is built-in to Miro. Buy, download, and listen, seamlessly. Buy Android apps from the Amazon or Google app stores and they will sync to your device." amazon store is built-in to firefox. android market is built-in to my phone. why should i use miro?
4. "Download and play almost any video" vlc plays EVERY video.
5. "Convert any video" windows 7 automatically does this for every device that supports mtp. no fiddling with 'presets' either.
6. "Share Your Media on your Network" i don't need this, though it might be useful for some people. also win 7 and wmp do this automagically.
8. "Ultra-fast torrent downloading" do we need our media players to download torrents?? why not also provide a maps feature too, or firmware flashing? or any other random feature?
9. "But it's not about the features!" actually it is about the features, it is about the usability and it is about not ripping some other product off. *cough*itunes*cough*
and why the fuck is miro trying to look exactly like itunes?? they won't bring anything new to the table, just try to clone the best thing available right now. imo, vlc has got it right. i don't need all the sucky media library crap, my file manager handles searches very well and vlc supports playlists.
Bandaid as another example. One could reasonably argue that the term "app store" is already pretty generic. I was calling my applications "apps" in the production environment of a company I worked for about 6 years ago. Every mobile device on the planet now has an online market or "store" through which you can buy or download applications or "apps."
my decades old palm device had apps, nokia smartphones have had apps since forever, dumbphones of every manufacturer had java apps. 'app' was common much before apple decided to use it.
Lack of copy/paste is a head-scratcher, but lets be fair, by the time iphone came to market that function in high-end phones had been long established and its absence was embarrassing.
pi/2 sounds much nicer?

evo (the phone the guy had) has a microsd. but there's no easy way to get it out quickly...
app called qik does just that. its available for symbian and android. dunno about iphone.
i dunno about gnome shell, but with unity its like: "this is the ui of osx. how can we perfectly clone it, with extra ugs added?"
But seeing this made me weep.
This universe is beautiful.
ftfy
are you by any chance running xp, or maybe turned off the uac?

apps existed on nokia smartphones years before iphone was a glimmer in jobs' eyes.

yeah, i love the new UNIVERSAL laptop dock, except right now it works only with apple laptops.
Now the Thunderbolt connector, on the other hand, has just one right way that you can try to even plug it in. It is easy to see which side is up.
how is that different from a usb connector?
i thought lightpeak was supposed to be optical, not electrical?
no, its from apple. only on their computers.
Keynote imports and exports PowerPoint, and is better than PowerPoint, makes much better presentations.
no it doesn't.
It's not free, but almost: $10 on iPad and $20 on Mac.
plus the price difference between similarly specced mac and pc (~$400).
