I think if you check out an ammunition performance table you'll find that the standard.357 load has more velocity and energy than the standard 9mm load.
Turn out the lights, the party's over
They say that all good things must end
Let's call it a night, the party's over
And tomorrow starts the same old thing again
What a crazy, crazy party
Never seen so many people
Laughin', dancin', look at you, you're havin' fun
But look at me, I'm almost cryin'
But that don't keep her love from dyin'
Misery calls for me, the party's over
Turn out the lights, the party's over
They say that all good things must end
Let's call it a night, the party's over
And tomorrow starts the same old thing again
Once I had a love, undyin'
I didn't keep it, wasn't tyrin'
Life for me was just one party and then another
I had to have my party wine
Broke her heart so many times
And then one night, she said sweetheart, the party's over
Turn out the lights, the party's over
They say that all good things must end
Let's call it a night, the party's over
And tomorrow starts the same old thing again

Analyst predicts PC vendors must consolidate or die
By Larry Barrett

Bear Stearns PC analyst Andrew Neff after the bell Tuesday fired off what he called a "manifesto," recommending massive and immediate consolidation of the major U.S. PC vendors. Some of his contemporaries strongly disagreed.
After watching profit warning after profit warning from major PC makers in recent weeks, Neff said the industry is at a "critical stage." The PC sector will unravel because of overcapacity, a problem that has plagued other industries. PC stocks will continue to erode unless companies take "concrete steps towards consolidation."
Among Neff's suggestions:
Compaq should sell out to HP.

Hopefully one synergy realization of the merger will be the Compaq press release writer being reassigned to Palo Alto, resulting in a lessening of buzzword accretion for the new company.
I'm skeptical that they'll survive. From an earlier c/net article:
In September, SBC Communications agreed to invest $150 million for a 6 percent stake in Covad. On the surface, SBC's move looked like a vote of confidence.
But there may have been other motives. Analysts said SBC's investment in Covad had more to do with creating the appearance of competition than holding out hope for a Covad recovery.
"The (Bells) are a lot smarter than people think," one analyst said. "It's a travesty and a tragedy in some ways. By keeping a handful of competitors alive, they can show that they're leaving the market open to competition while maintaining higher prices."
From the current article:
Covad expects to pay a total of $283.3 million to bondholders and have $250 million in cash remaining that will enable it to keep running until the beginning of next year. The company estimates it will then need $200 million more in financing to reach a positive cash flow by the third quarter of 2003.
I also wonder about how they treat customers when they have spokespeople making statements like this:
Some customers who used Covad's service, directly or indirectly, said the company was slow to react to frequent service outages, consistently blamed local phone companies for glitches, and generally delivered poor service.
Covad spokeswoman Martha Sessums dismissed the complaints from current and former customers, saying "there will always be crybaby boobies who are unhappy with any company.
"I'd be happy to provide you with many, many customers who are extremely happy with our service," she said.
And you'll be pulled over frequently by some of the most courteous officers you've ever met. Some of the violations you'd be cited for you've probably never even heard of...
Reality says, they're going to use it to track you whenever you have your cellphone on. No more need for that tedious police work, eh? Without the ESN/MIN, "they" can't track a specific person/phone. To get the ESN/MIN and permission to track someone takes a subpoena/court order. Once approval is given, technology different than what will be employed by 911 centers is used. If you're so paranoid about big brother there's a simple option: turn off the phone until you need to use it.

How it works
When someone sends you mail from an address from which you've never received mail before, procmail will store their mail away without delivering it to you, and send them a message explaining that their mail hasn't been delivered yet. When they reply to that message as instructed, their original message will be delivered instead, and their address will be added to the list of addresses from which to accept mail in the future.
That's really about it - your friends and correspondents won't be inconvenienced much, and you may never get another piece of spam!
