modded to troll? that hurts! You know, even though my profile SAYS excellent (or whatever), deep deep down, I know it's really just a 49. And that hurts. *sniff* Whoever you are, modder, you've done a great disservice to my ego.
(btw this post was ALSO just silly off-topic carp, and/or sarcasm)
I've had more than a couple WDs go on me, as well as Seagate, Quantum, others. I've only had one IBM, but both it and ALL of my Maxtors (including a 200mb drive) still work.
Ive been to most all Ivy sports venues - (minus Dartmouth, never been there, heh). I have to say that in regards to the crowds and excitement, I think Yale v Harvard are usually best. The Cornell/Harvard hockey games are fantastic, though. Of course, any championship of any sort has great crowds, regardless of traditional 'rivalries'.
I downloaded both Play and 18 before their release dates. I bought Play, but not 18. Then again, I would purchase it in the future if it grows on me - I've only listened to it three times. I don't feel I've short-changed Moby, either -- I went to a concert, and bought a t-shirt. College students can only spend so much money on one artist...
However, it's fair to say that without cd-copying technology, I would have purchased 18 already. So, I guess it does hurt his sales, no matter how much I might be able to justify it.
Don't forget the GameBoy lasted several centuries (seemingly). Even though it's a portable, and outside of the typical console wars, I think it's long run is amazing. (Plus, the 'color' thing they did at the end must have made them a ton of money -- for a small increase in production cost, they got people to buy a whole new system - I bet they were raking it in)
Also, the system quickest to die must be the Virtual Boy... granted, it was terrible, but I enjoy just mentioning it.
Certainly now, but not as the term was first used -- There are references to Listerine ads from the 1920s that feature halitosis. The earliest article in your link runs back to 1965. The first AMA publications I could find on the topic are from ~1931. (here, here, and here)
All three of these question the claims of Listerine to do anything to kill bacteria and germs. (It should be noted that at the same time, the AMA's 'popular' magazine included some more positive appraisals of Listerine.) Listerine's advertising efforts under the name of science appear to go back before 1910 or 1905, although I could not find the term 'halitosis' much before the above links from 1931.
So the point is that I can not say who created the term, not having done enough research, and not really caring to...
heh. After these posts I do want to go buy Listerine, though.
BTW, there is a whole other mess regarding Listerine: IP and trade secrets. Interesting to read about if... well, never, actually.
repeat.
I was kidding . .
but it does flow
Oh, so it's like glass then.
What?
Isn't Shatner's acting artificial enough?
ba dum dum - ching!
I like the huge header:
NEWSPAPER STORIES
Wow, who knew?

You forgot slow.
To paraphrase horribly:
Take Amtrak... please!
It's SO transparent that I can't see it at all!
Simply stunning!
I wonder if anyone has modded a switch, router, or hub to contain a mini pc inside...
I built my newest computer without a floppy, and it saved me enough room to put a 12th fan in the front of my tower, bringing the total to 104.
from the it-fluffs-it-folds dept.
Fluffs? I'm getting one right away...
(sorry - I apologize for that.)
So which one of us is right?!
You are.

The munching is louder. As the owner of 2 Maxtor 80 gigs, I can also attest to this.
What the hell am I saying?

Nag.. eh... Nag... uh...
Not gonna work here anymore, anyway.
What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?
Yeah.
Wow, that's messed up.
no, no, no. You're doing it all wrong. It's:
First POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!!

By the looks of this screenshot, somebody is taking a course in "Ethical Crap".
(Unfortunately, its a fairly old screenshot.)
I'm just having 'fun with karma' :)
It's amazing that the cap has really removed any incentive to post quality for me.
I'm about an hour away from starting even more accounts, except I'm convinced that qualifies as some sort of illness.
In case you were wondering, the term for 'the need to create new words and catchphrases' is "stupid".

*laughter*
CD stores are successful becuase they aren't label specific, that's why Napster was successfull too
Oh, silly me, I thought it was because the music was free on Napster.
that's not saying it couldn't work this way, just, a little less so...
I could just imagine somebody skimming the comparison
Don't worry,
(btw, the short conclusion page of the article does mention the 120gb limit)
