I think you missed the point of this whole "fake news" controversy. These twenty-something goofballs start a fake news site to make money off the alt-right, and alt-right news sites who don't do any fact checking immediately pick up the stories.
In the past few days, there have been several interesting interviews with some of the people who run fake news sites. The reason th doing it. Alsoey say that fake news doesn't work on the Left will blow your mind.
I heard about this story yesterday on NPR, about an alt-right fake-news writer living in Los Angeles.
TL/DR: Jestin Coler (the fake-news writer) claimed that he does it to show how easily hoodwinked people are by fake news, but when pressed, he admitted he could make lots of money doing this. A few interesting quotes from his interview:
The whole idea from the start was to build a site that could infiltrate the echo chambers of the alt-right, publish blatantly false or fictional stories and then be able to publicly denounce those stories and point out the fact that they were fiction. [...] We've tried to do similar things to liberals. It just has never worked, it never takes off. You'll get debunked within the first two comments and then the whole thing just kind of fizzles out.
I believe even more believe in creationism. Therefore not a surprise, christians don't fuck.
First of all, if christians don't fuck, then where do new christians come from? Abstinence didn't work out for the Shakers.
And second, Creationism is by no means a majority position of mainstream christian denominations. Most (along with denominations of other world faiths) accept evolution and cosmology as the correct explanations for our origins.
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."
I never knew about Breitbart news until this election, and after following them for the last 3 months I think they're probably the best example of actual news reporting on the net. The site is right-wing slanted, but the actual reporting appears to be high quality and accurate.
Facepalm. I was tempted to stop reading at this point. But then you said:
Compare with, for example, Huffington Post which had at the bottom of each article about Trump, the statement: "Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims—1.6 billion members of an entire religion—from entering the U.S." A direct quote, and I personally saw this at the bottom of several HuffPo articles.
And I call BS. Where did you read this? In the comments section? I just looked at several Trump articles on HuffPo and did not see the quote you mentioned.
I keep thinking that some point really soon the mounting evidence of serious climate shifts will override even the hardest critics, but then again, AGW pseudoskepticism has become a sort of a cult of its own, which follows the same bizarre and idiotic credo of the Creationists, both groups declaring almost every other day "Any day now, that nasty scientific theory I hate is going to be disproven."
I think that calling them pseudoskeptics bestows too much grace on them. What they really are is anti-science denialists.
And they (like the Creationists) are not waiting for their least-favorite scientific theory to be disproven. They simply reject the parts of science that are inconvenient to them.
I think Obama is using that excuse to dodge the question of pardoning Snowden. Just like Trump dodged releasing his taxes by saying he couldn't because he was under audit. Which was also not true: there's no legal impediment to releasing your taxes if you're under audit.
Not actually "just like" that at all. All this relativism in politics is killing it. A democrat and republican can do exactly the same thing and otherwise sane rational people will defend one and crucify the other, depending on which side they like. You're killing this country.
I fail to see your point. I'm not defending either side here.
Chelsea Clinton owns TheBlaze whom Glen Beck front-lines for./p>
ROTFL. No, Chelsea Clinton does not own TheBlaze. It is owned by Mercury Radio Arts, aka Glenn Beck.
If it weren't for Elon Musk and Tesla, we would still be asking "Who killed the electric car?"
That question was effectively answered a decade ago in this documentary.
The answer? The auto industry, the oil industry, and the George W. Bush administration.
Tesla, Nissan (Leaf), Chevrolet (Bolt) and no doubt others to come will show that the plan did not succeed.

Don't tempt him to rewrite physics books. He appears to be willing and able, since ignorance is on his side.
Too late. No doubt his nominee for Department of Education will do it for him.
This was modded troll? So sad.
Come back when you have something to report.
You're not paying attention, and I doubt you ever will.
Sorry, maybe I'm the one who isn't paying attention.
Come back when you have something to report.

This. Mod parent up. I was going to post something similar.
No.. you misunderstand. He's going to get them to plant a TREE. When it grows, it will be a "big plant"!
If I cut up my apple and bury it, I do get tree(s)...care to try a little experiment with your iPhone 6 Plus? >:-)
You're planting it wrong.
An Apple tree that grows Oranges.
No thanks, one Orange is enough. :-/
Now an apple tree that grows iPhones...
No.. you misunderstand. He's going to get them to plant a TREE. When it grows, it will be a "big plant"!
An Apple tree, FTW.
An attempt to fix Fortran and COBOL resulted in Pascal
You left out Algol and PL/I ("fixing" Fortran and COBOL, roughly respectively.)
Color me corrected. Thanks for the improvement.
Well, thanks for that. I must admit that is uncool on HuffPo's part. Uncool, but accurate.
But you know what's uncool and often inaccurate? Breitbart:
http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/1...
http://mediamatters.org/blog/2...
The public school system isn't doing it's job.
You can say that again. ("it's" == "it is".)
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. Great quote, but it has more impact if you cite your source: Socrates, 469-399 BC.

I haven't heard anything about him putting a Democrat in his cabinet. Maybe I missed it, but if he's filling every position with Republicans
I guess you did miss that he's considering Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) for a cabinet position.
Of course, considering the other cabinet picks he has in the works, this may just be window-dressing.
Trump isn't Republican or right wing. He is a NYC Democrat. Just look at his history.
It's hard to tell what Trump is. It's true that he was a Democrat. It's also true that he has been a (registered) Republican since April 2012. But he has changed his party affiliation at least five times since the late 1980s.
Look who's lecturing us: YOUR country Brexited your asses into recession.
We'll see who gets to gloat.

Shame on CNN for that, but it's not "fake news." It's just an inflammatory click-bait headline.
You're right.

Trump never claimed he was legally not allowed to [release his taxes.]
Nor did Obama claim that he "legally" could not pardon Snowden. Both of them implied they could not do something for legal reasons.
