It's plain wierd, but this crap reminds me of demolition man, where everyone and his brother was implanted so that the monster police computer could track them anytime... this movie is from 1993, and described the world as it was supposed to have become in 2032... hell, guess reality joined fiction faster than supposed at the time.
here's an amazon link to this Stallone masterpiece
uh, visio wasn't from Microsoft in the first place, guess that what makes the design not totally brain-dead (the later MS additions, of course, are in that brain-dead category)
Shows your total ignorance. Most of the research done on the ISS is of what you describe in the second paragraph. For example, microgravity is useful in growing crystals for computing (allows extremely large samples of perfectly aligned atoms), and protein research (allows for protein folding that can't be done on earth because of gravity)) Research before you post !
That's the easy part: fire those inept managers that refuse the photo opportunity (Lynda Ham (sp?) in particular seems to be the culprit here, according to the CAIB report)
huh ??? where the hell did you find that information ? The shuttle uses 5 identical IBM special purpose-built computers (currently, they are AP-101S). These things are all but intel-based machines. here you will find more info on those machines.
Simply put, they are based on the IBM-360 architecture, and where programmed in a language called HAL/S (High-Order Assembly Language / Shuttle).
Do some research before saying stupid things, pal !
yeah, and save space, remove those crappy mini-jacks that love to jump off with the first vibrations where the spring action of the female part ejects the male part... (that's THE problem I have with my carpc). I'd love to see there replaced with something that HOLDS IN PLACE...
well, seeing from previous incarnation, the RCA can probably switch between composite tv out and digital sound (same as optical, but over a copper wire)
duh, 48 hours is more than enough to rip/encode the thing to divx... cheap extra large hard drives will help in this process (hell, I'm already at the terabyte level)
maybe it's time to replace all those copper wires with fiber, which is totally impervious to r/f interference ? then the power supply can be properly filtered inside the box with big-enough capacitors...
"In a press release Wednesday, Universal Music said it will reduce wholesale prices and implement a $12.98 manufacturer suggested retail price on virtually all of its top-line CDs in the U.S."
Now, how expensive will they get in europe ? 28 EUR, to make up for the losses in the US ???
Hey, you should have checked the zebra website, which has the whole enchilada of manuals available at http://www.zebra.com/SS/manuals.htm. They have a pain-in-the-ass registration thing, but check those links, you can wget the pdfs without even accepting the stupid click through agreement...

that's where the X11 server on MacOS X 10.3 comes into play ;)
hopefully, they can't enforce this madness in europe (hope it stays that way ;)))) )

too bad their cr@pola software doesn't even run on my linux distribution

If they can work out the catastrophic bugs

or lifting body concept.
hmmmm, what do you think IS the shuttle ???
Hundreds of things usually go wrong with the shuttle during the course of a mission. Little things here and there.
Such as their Windows and Outlook going haywire at times ?
too bad, the russians already have a contract with the European Space Agency to launch from Kourou, now that Baikonur is located in Khazakhstan ;)
At least not the kind of profit that shows up within the planning horizons of most any corporation on Earth.
About 6 months tops ?

some east-german swimmer ?
Forthcoming: the automotive industry will improve car mileage and durability by clarifying that a mile is actually only 1000 feet.
HA! the hard drive manufacturers already do that :(

RTFA you idiot, what do you think the small blue connector here is ?
repeat after me... the only thing that should replace those damned SUV are the smart...
Unfortunately I suspect that all too often they would be used as a type of bordello.
uh, what exactly would be unfortunate ??? are you part of those fake-christians bush followers ?
maybe it would have made more sense to get smart cars street legal in the US, to replace those over-consuming SUVs...

I have a pic of an atm running win95 that had the banking application (written obviously with MSC++) crashed
