I could read CD 1 on my computer, although the whole CD appears as one 51 minute track. CD 2 it can't read at all. cdparanoia says "Unable to open disc". My portable CD player and even my very cheap stereo sometimes have trouble reading the discs, though stopping and restarting them fixes the problem.
I would never have thought that Aphex Twin would do such a thing, even though he says the only reason he releases his music is to make money (he only releases what he thinks his fans expect from him and he keeps the really innovative stuff for himself, because he doesn't want to be copied by everybody.
For those who don't care about Java but want to program robots, there is a similar program called realtimebattle which lets you write robots in any language you want (ok, any language which can read and write standard input and output).
Back in the days when I and a few friends of mine were addicted to Ultima Online, and I was the only one with internet access (28k modem), we used to play that way. One guy took the mouse, another one did the typing and all the others were debating about what to do and looking up stats on printouts, or doing translations to and from english for the guy at the keyboard (I'm from Switzerland). Our english really improved because of UO, althogh a lot of the words we learned aren't relly useful outside of fantasy RPGs:)
hell yeah!
I absolutely hate cell phones.
I don't want to be available for anybody anytime. If you want to talk to me you can wait till I'm at home or send me an email or whatever.
I used to dislike people just because they have a cell phone, but I can't do that anymore, because almost everybody around me has one. It always saddens me when I see that someone I know now has one too. I started to like people because they don't have one though.
If it was possible to install a global cell phone jamming system, I'd definitely support that.

Dreamcast Runs Linux

I remember seeing a slashdot article saying that some guy got NetBSD running on his Dreamcast quite some time ago. I'm too lazy to find that link, but there's no reason for you to be pissed off.
The Germans actually demanded to get the source for a security audit, otherwise they wouldn't buy win2k. But Microsoft didn't want them to look at their source. So M$ decided to solve the problem by just letting them remove the tool.

here in switzerland we already have such programs in most bigger cities. They work very well. The addicts get clean, high quality, cheap heroin from their doctors. Now they don't have to worry all the time where they might get some money to buy themselves some heroin which may contain anything and eventually become criminals to finance their addiction. They can get a job and slowly return to normal life. A lot of addicts are able to quit heroin that way because they get integrated into society again, although they get cheap good heroin. It's way more effective and cheaper, for the state as well as for the addict, than a war on drugs. There is even a debate whether health care should pay the addicts the heroin. I think it was rejected, but I'm not sure.
Here in Switzerland it is quite common to listen to CDs before you buy them. (At least in smaller CD stores, in big shopping-centers, you can listen to the top 10 of the charts).
This is cool... so if bullfrog doesn't want to port it to linux (and other previously unsupportet OSes), someone else can port it. I hope other people in the game industry follow this example.
You would have to pay me a lot of money to make me using a cell phone. Here in Switzerland 3.3 of 7 million people have a cell phone. This is crazy! what the fsck does a 14 year old student need a cell phone for (there are schools where cell phones had to be banned because they were disturbing too much)?? why does everybody think he/she is that important? i can understand that buisness people who are on the road all the time need a cell phone. But for most people i just don't see what they could be useful for. And it is way expensive too (at least here in Switzerland), lots of kids can't pay their bills anymore. And why do those cell-phone owners have to set their phones to playing beethovens 5th everytime the phone rings???? There are phones wich just vibrate instead of making stupid sounds. There is nothing more annoying than sitting in the same train with some wannabe cool guys showing each other all the melodies their phones can play! I recently saw a feature on tv about cell phones. A lot of people answered the question why they own a cell phone with: "well everybody else has one so i bougth one too". It's sad to see people just following trends without thinking about why they do so. </rant></offtopic>
Here in Switzerland you must have a TI 82 but nothing else. So everybody has the same hardware but some people are able to write programs to solve their problems. Or you could just store all the formulas you need to solve them into a program. I never memorized formulas in chemistry because we were allowed to use our calculators where I could store them. You can buy a cable which enables you to type on your pc and transmit the programs to the TI-82, so you don't have to spend a lot of time typing in all the theory.
Linus always said that Open Source is good for Linux, but in other cases closed Source is ok too. It would be quite easy to screw up the code morphing software for those who don't know the internals of the Crusoe chip. So it's probably better to leave the code morphing software to those who know how to do it. And Transmeta is not Linus. Crusoe was in development for years before Linus joined them. So Transmeta should change to Open Source just because they hired Linus? From what I've heard, Linus didn't write much of the code morphing software, he was mainly occupied with Linux.

mozilla.org says M22 is the final one
yeah, I for example will NEVER buy one
