I seriously doubt Apple will release DVR software/hardware itself. It goes against what they are trying to do with iTunes, IMO. And I'm sure the TV studios they have partnered with so far would pull out if they were to do this.
I just bought my first Mac (iMac 20") yesterday. Over the years, I've had a 286, 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium II, Pentium III, Athlon, and now a G5. I was a heavy Windows user until around Win98, after that I mostly have used Linux.
So yes, I am a win for Apple. But Windows pretty much lost me years ago. I'll still continue to use Linux, but will have no need to dual boot to Windows anymore.
I find it odd why everyone jumps to the conclusion that iTunes is only an outlet to supply content for iPods. What is to prevent Apple from coming out with an "Airport Express Video" product that lets you stream video you purchased from iTunes to your TV? This seems a lot more likely. Maybe even a rental system to bypass or teamup with Netflix.
You do realize that Bush missed the Florida filing deadline this year, don't you? Democrats could have made a fuss about it, and I'm sure Bush would have fought them on it. But as the law is written, Bush should not be on the Florida ballot this year.
You say Democrats decided not to follow the laws. When exactly did they break the law? They may have wanted the deadline extended to accomodate recounts, but why is it invalid to ask a court to consider that? The court rules all the time based on what the legislature *intended* to do, but did not explicitly write into law.
Do you think Bush would not have done the exact same thing if the situation had been the opposite?
So if you were being shot at, which would you rather have aimed at you? I would think an assault weapon would make it easier to "mow down" a group of people.
Basically, my point is what purpose is there for owning an assault weapon?
Here is my problem with John F. Kerry. He has had 20 something years in the Senate to author any legislation he thinks is good for America. Exactly what is his record on producing such legislation. Name 10. Name 9. Name 2. He has been sitting on his ASS for 20 years. 20 years of Senate, and still we don't know where he stands.
Maybe if you got off YOUR ASS and actually did some research, you would find out what his record is. Or do you expect the US media to spoonfeed this to you?
Try this: "In his almost 20 year career, he has sponsored (667) and co-sponsored (4117) a total of 4784 bills and amendments. By comparison, during the same years, John McCain only was associated with a total of 4247."
Prolife and prochoice. He is prolife in his own life, but he doesn't want to force his opinion on everybody else who is prochoice. How is that a bad thing?
Pro Gun, anti gun. He is for the assault weapons ban. That doesn't mean he is anti-gun. He still supports the right to bear arms, but there are limits on what arms we should be able to bear, don't you agree?
Leviticus 11:10 - And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you.
I locked myself out of my truck a few years ago. Instead of paying to have someone jimmy it open for me and possibly damaging things, I called up the local Toyota dealership to see if they could make me a new key.
The VIN was on my proof of insurance, so I told it to them over the phone, and had someone drive me there to pick it up.
No one ever asked me for proof of ID. I had never even been to this particular Toyota dealership before! All I did was walk in and say I needed to pickup my key!
Someone said that by the time the key is made, your car probably isn't sitting there anymore at the mall. But what about your day job, where your car sits everyday? A good thief could probably notice how long the same cars stay there, write down some numbers, have keys made, and the next day come back for them!
Isn't Sony the company that distributes the Celine Dion CD that was copy protected? I guess they think it is okay to rip any CDs except the ones they make?;-)
I remember a few years ago when the grassroots effort on the net began to help fight the CDA. Everyone I knew had those little images on their homepages supporting the cause. Is anything like that happening against the DMCA? Maybe if enough people found out about it, they would begin to voice their concerns to the powers that be.
It's the economy, stupid!
Instead of complaining, why don't you just ignore the Politics section?

You're missing the point. Agilent was spun off from HP, hence it used to be HP, and that is where the 'real' HP went.
I nominate Diebold!
Now if only we can get them to enter their code in the contest...
Slowly dying? With $1B+ in revenues and $100M+ in profits, I'd hardly say they are dying.

Taking a moral stand is a GOOD thing, don't you think?
Taking a moral stand is fine, but when you start trying to codify your morals and religious beliefs into the law is where I draw the line.
Not every issue is black and white!

It's not rocket science after all...

Turner is owned by Time Warner, which is owned by AOL, right? Well, AOL is a major shareholder/partner of Tivo:
