Because it was decided a long time ago (I think back in the days of Sears being *one* giant building and a mail-order catalogue) that mail-order purchases were only taxable if the catalogue had a facility operating within the state of purchase. What is Amazon, other than a *really* fast mail-order catalogue, essentially?
As I said above, since EB is now owned by GameStop, their liabilities/debts should be, as well. And a pre-order qualifies as a liability, I would imagine.
Skype has central servers, which is what they are referring to. In fact, does anyone know if Skype even is peer-to-peer, rather than a peerserverpeer model?
Friend of mine is on AT&T with an Android phone. There is a way to sideload apps, but it more or less *requires* terminal use (either on the phone or through ADB).
Yes, it's stupid, but it probably allows them to get around that requirement.
The fact that these people are implying that there is something wrong with gay people, I would say. If you were to say that all people who believe in a round earth were immoral and destroying the country, despite all the evidence, I'm pretty sure most people would be pretty offended.
Exactly. Some people spend so much time indoctrinating that X is wrong that they don't have any time actually teach how to be a truly decent person. If you think X is immoral, fine, that is your right -- but tormenting someone because of X is just as immoral as X could ever be.
There's a not so fine line between simply making fun of someone or joking about stereotypes and saying, essentially, you're a terrible, evil person that God hates because you're gay.
I know some people are annoyed by people making buttsex jokes when talking about gay men, but that's very different from telling someone that their life is an abomination simply by being a certain way.
Obviously, my department at work should sue Apple for using "Apple Store" -- we sell apples (among other things) so we could be considered an apple store, as well.
The thing here is that this is not a unique phrase. App has been around for decades, as you pointed out. By this logic, I can sue the local bakery if I open a place called "Bread Store" or something, right?
Actually, that was due to cultural pressure to engage in gay sex, much like gays now are pressured into sublimating their urges into something "acceptable".
Uh. No. Homosexual defines preference by definition -- it is sexual attraction to someone of the same sex, NOT the act of having sex with that person. Similarly, pedophile defines preference, NOT behavior; a person can be a pedophile without ever touching a kid.
Uh, you do realize that most gays actually *do* subscribe to the "born that way" theory, right? And that it's not based on there being some "gay gene" or something, right?
Also, homosexuality happens in many other species, and seeing as it is looking more and more to have a biological basis, I doubt that it's truly "unnatural" -- if happens because of something that can naturally happen, then it's natural.
Actually, the shape of the cells is pretty different between the sexes, in general. One is kinda longer than the other, if memory serves. And one of the methods they've used for testing arousal to certain stimuli is the use of pheromones.
That too. If my psych-major friend ever gets online, I will ask her what part of the brain it was, because she was the one who showed me the studies they did.
I know several gay men, and I've discussed this issue at length with them. It isn't their preference to live a "heterosexual life". It's that that is what society expects of them, therefore that is what they strive for.
Homosexuality extends far beyond "stick[ing] your dick up some guys (sic) arse". It is being attracted to people of the same sex -- attraction to people is something that cannot be controlled. I don't choose who I'm attracted to, neither do homosexuals. The only thing homosexuals have any control over is whether or not they engage in sexual activity -- and frankly, if they are attracted to someone else, and that person is attracted to them, what exactly is the problem with them engaging in anything?
Exactly. One of the prescriptions I was one a while ago was 800/month without insurance.
No snowflake in an avalanche has ever looked back and said, "Look what I did!"
If if you want to ban violent media sales to children by law it better be all media. There is no legal force behind movie ratings.

When you buy a company, you usually end up with their liabilities/debts -- including unfulfilled contracts, which a pre-order is.

Or, you know, it could just be a server issue. If you look, and ask Skype users, the outage is already over.
I know, not as fun as MS-bashing, but the best bashing is based on fact.
No one would *ever* post a file needed to make full use of one's own property somewhere on them thar interwebs... ;)
Well, most Android phones (even, to an extent, newer Motorola models) can have new system images put on them.

Wow, the fact that you thought of this is interesting. The thought itself is fantastic, really, in pointing out the problems with this proposal.

I think that may have been it, actually.

I am curious -- how is homosexuality an illness?
