My understanding of the springs is to keep the valve on the cam. If you remove the cam and use a voicecoil type system, the compression of the engine should be enough to seal the valve while the voice coil could move the valve at what ever speed is needed. Voice coil speed and accuracy has been tried and tested in the hard drive market, seems an ideal fit here.
Only question is can you get a voice coil small and strong enough to open an exhaust valve after the compression cycle yet still fit in the head?
And I use to laugh at the rednecks who said they needed guns in case the government tries to take over. Now we see that the Democratic party is trying to take away guns and votes.
luckily Lucas did little more than sign off on The Clone Wars cartoon of which was really good. I'm not a rabid Lucas molested my inner child type, but I do see that EpI was horrible, EpII was slightly less horrible, EpIII improved upon that to be merely bad. He is improving, and I did really enjoy 2 & 3 despite the warts.
Actually it is very well suited for bike travel. 90% of roads that are anywhere near residential areas have sidewalks. there are 4 different grocery stores within 1/2 mile from most neighborhoods Several parks with paths as most everything in the Phoenix area is new and new builds are regulated to be this way with sidewalks and a certain % park land. Mid summer si the only time that the Environment really doesn't feel worth saving. Otherwise it is rather pleasant.
If you hate your job then get a new one. Simple as that. IT or not. It is people sitting in jobs that they hate because they don't want to get another one that creates jobs that people hate. As an employer if I can pay someone crap to do crap work than I will. If nobody will do that job then I will have to pay more or go without. IT is just usually filled with above average intelligent people who understand this. That is why IT jobs are typically more fun. I have also watched jobs go from fun to shitty because of the job market. The more jobs posted on Monster the more an employer will do for you. The less jobs available the more restrictive and micromanaging they become.
If you don't like a job for 6 months, find another. Repeat until you find one you like. Also don't worry about loyalty. Do you really think the company you work for cares. Your boss may actually care but he isn't likely the one to lay you off. Some VP in an office will be in order to make sure he gets his bonus. If you leave when he needs you that VP may lose his bonus.
It is in your hands. The system is just set to appear that it is not.
What you're talking about isn't curbing bad habits, but downgrading lifestyle. If I can make a round trip to the grocery store in my car in 10 minutes or save by using my bike in 30 minutes which would I rather do? Typically it will be pay the bit extra on gas and drive faster.
Water, thermostats, showers, lights. They are all part of an upgraded lifestyle brought on by having plenty of each item. If/When these things become less available they will become more expensive and will be pushed up to people willing/and able to pay for them.
10 years ago I was a Phone Monkey for HP's Pavilion line of PCs, and everything you say was very true back then. Except for the fact that I did care. I would typically agree with people on design flaws of Windows 95. Help with work arounds that I had learned as well as take feedback from workarounds that they have used. The only people that benefit from this was me and the people that called me. HP didn't care. I was graded only on how quickly I could get them off the phone without having a strong probability of them calling back. I didn't stay long and moved on to a Linux sysadmin job shortly afterwards. Never really looked back on windows.
BSD and GPL give freedom to different things. The GPL gives and insures the continuance of freedom to the code written, while the BSD insures that the developer is free to do what ever he/she/it wishes with the code.
This reminds me of a fake commercial I saw on an old spoof show form HBO called "Not Necessarily the News." It had the movie announcer voice list through 6-8 Big name stars in his dramatic way. Then says, "Wouldn't it be great if they all made a movie together?"
Yea, stupid VPN for work is set to only allow Windows and OSX. No actual technical reason a declaration of "This is what we support" Been on it now for almost a year.
Or, maybe, just maybe, the article is playing sensationalism and not giving the whole story. Knowing that by giving only these reasons they'll get many more eyes and people will talk about it more.
Perhaps were missing the part when the kid had openly threatened people and bragged about utilizing the map he made to plan a strategic route for his killing spree.
ehh, you're probably right. It is a police state we live in.
Saying you don't need a shell just means you have found clunky, typically inefficient workarounds, or you are just living without its benefits.
Sure you can live without a vacuum cleaner, but your carpet and overall cleanliness is going to suffer for it. I know people who live in apartments without vacuum cleaners and they are very similar to computers who's users don't use or understand shells.
1998 was the year of the linux desktop, at least for me it was. And I was a die hard Windows/Dos user before that. I had only passing exposure to Unix. December 10th 1998 my windows 95 died. I decided to install Linux Redhat 5.0 and never looked back. Unfortunately I am now stuck on a Mac.
What is the meaning of this "The year of the Linux Desktop?"
Yea, I just double checked it and it was installed by root into Applications but as my primary user ID. This would allow me to upgrade it as long as I was logged in as my primary user.
I'm surprised the diskutility's fix perms didn't catch that though.
Maybe you didn't know but "Linux" is the common, short name for the many GNU/Linux/XFree/BSD/etc distribution of kernel and userspace tools. This has been convention for several years now dispite a very few objections.
Also pointing out the one or two features that other Unix's have that Linux doesn't is, as pointed out in my other post, not a sum total of features. My socks cover my feet and Linux can't doesn't mean that socks have more features.
I'd have to disagree with #3 and #4. While other UNIXs can do some things linux can't and while some can scale higher than Linux can, Linux still has more features than any other one UNIX and scales farther between bottom and top than any other OS. Far from saying it is perfect or even saying it is better or more fit for any particular purpose.
Just pointing out that your choice of words wasn't quite right although your point was understood by me it may not be understood by all.
"My first wife was 'tarded."
You're either sick or stupid. Perhaps both.

"Moistened Binks" distribute scimitars to define you as emperor. "Watery Tarts" throw swords at you allowing you to wield supreme executive power.

What if you're a sadomasochist schizophrenic?

100% pure lowest common denominator. Now that is the way to judge quality.

Just like whinny programmers and artists. "I worked really hard for 6 months to make this. I should be paid the rest of my life for it."
boo hoo if that right goes away.

Yes, Yes we would want to. That is what I do today in my house. the heat out side is natural and I am cooling it anyway.
