Desktop will soon be a niche that will mostly be Linux users that want it. The Year of the "Linux Desktop" will not be due to Linux's gains in popularity of that particular realm, but the reduction of desktop use by those not using Linux.
I, for at least the last decade, have already been weighing information on the value of storing it locally in my head (memorization) vs the ability to quickly look it up with Google or other internet service. A large portion of my knowledge now is pointers to details and vague summaries of what the knowledge is or can help me do. Adding cloud is just making "The internet will expand human brain capacity" a more current buzzword complaint statement.
"The people working on these papers expressing opinions like this are dangerous and should be locked up. "
Let me get this right: You want to put someone in jail for something they might be able to do because it may allow other people to be put in jail for what they might be able to do.
You are trying to compare a $100 hooker that gives you a good professional job and some guy charging you $20 to rub one out your self. Which one is the bigger waste?
You mean due to high prices people don't drive as much so there are fewer people being killed in car accidents on the streets? I'd think free individual transportation would make the US a much better system to be in then so long as the risks are known.
Or just restrict the power of the federal government to be in line with the original intent of the constitution rather than the current "regulate interstate trade" clause means regulate everything. Then let states decided how to distribute power among them selves.
Just more proof that Libertarianism is the only way to vote going forward. I'd care a lot less about crack pots like this getting into smaller governments with less power over smaller regions.
Not just private industry, I'd want it to be profitable too. If it's not profitable what would the use be? If we were able to make one but then nobody could afford to eat I don't think it would be very useful. If one was made and everyone got to live better because of it then everyone profits.
Also, you can see where the government is involved when you and thousands of others are tasked with bringing materials to repair a bridge and yet here, years later the bridge still isn't repaired. Stupid government scam to extract as much money and value while providing only enough service to not cause riots is a bad way to do business.
I've spent the last 20 years perfecting my Unix skills. The main thing I've always felt was holding me back form perfect success is a lack of a neck beard and no where near enough sweat glands. This may finally get me to perfect my professional arts.
Ohh the horror!! They're going to post articles that the readers are most interested in and this is a bad thing. I want more boring and uninteresting links and stories.
I'm guessing you're talking about the 90% tax on wages over $1million? How about you do some research on your own and tell me how many people actually payed that tax.
this is why I use a white board and draw/write down as I go, so when people start asking questions that spin my thinking I can realign my thoughts by looking at the drawing.
Because with out someone with enough capital and entrepreneurship to give them an opportunity to make $100k they would make a small fraction of that, quite possibly not enough to feed and shelter them selves.
Yes, requiring a business to do something against there normal course by government regulation is, by definition, increasing regulations on banking. I'm guessing in your world the sky is not blue?

Microsoft are pretty much ensuring that no matter what you try to use Windows on, you get the worst of both worlds..
FTFY... This has been said since at least the very early 90s.
seems par for the course on http://dayzmod.com/
Perhaps not less crazy, but the damage they can do will be much less.

Don't play in the street.

The problem with government is, it's oppressive whether you voted for it or not.

Doing the math, if gas gets high enough (say $14,000 a gallon) it could pay for itself in just minutes.
You ever taste the blood of Christ? It tastes like cheap wine, he must have been trashed all the time.
dog died in fiery death, lets go get some chicken that died and are in fiery death.

exactly, a low capital gains tax (tax on the rich) and a moderate income tax (tax on the middle class).

10 years ago Linux was begging for support, now that it's become a desktop user power house it can demand support.
