    Good idea, we could separate portions of the US into distinct smaller territories that could maintain their own governments closer to the people that live there. Then we could have a small government on top to set some very basic guidelines for those states to follow then otherwise they do what they feel is right.

    but the expanded life span due to having heat on demand and the ability to light you home at night with something other than smoky fires counters that as well.

    Their 85% is of people that did run the red light, how many did they guess would do it prior to them doing it. Using that measure you would have gotten 0% right. No news for you.

    Uhh, i think the 1% already have chauffeurs. Part of capitalist economy shows that the things the rich do for luxury today will be common place in 10-50 years. The socialist will just complain about the out of work chauffeurs.

    Exactly, I hold more hope for automated driving cabs and buses. They can use the existing infrastructure without interfering with the existing ways of travel. It will be personal chauffeurs for everyone.

    To me, freedom of speech has always been about the content of the speech, not the delivery. You can't be arrested for what you say, but how you say it (ie 200db bull horn) or where you say it (fire in a theater) may be something you can be prosecuted for. But never the content of what you are saying.

    In practice YMMV.
