    Of course the only reason that is true is due to some level of combat keeping bad guys out. Not supporting the way out of bounds wars we're in now, but there are bad people out there and whether they "hate our freedom" or just want our big screen TVs, factories and other resources, they are only kept at bay by men in tanks or other defenses of the time. This has been true all through history.

    this reminds me a lot of some of the papers Hans Reiser put out for his plans for reiserfs. Having things that could plug directly into the file system to handle file formats in a lower level way than libraries. like you could get a jpeg on your system and use the old way of opening an app that supports jpegs and load /file.jpeg into it.

    Or you could allow a kernel file system plugin that would allow you to open /file.jpeg/raw in an image editor that would get the raw data. or it could open /file.png/raw and get it's raw data, thus the app only has to support one image type and the filesystem would handle the backend details.

    I am posting after actually paying for a roof. Thanks.

    Also purchased two sheds complete with roof for less than $3000. (Shed being about 120 square foot) recently priced out a full 3 car garage at ~$15,000 complete from bare ground. I don't know where you people get ripped off from.

    hot and dry yes, patio is rolled roofing, rest is 30 year shingle. labor was done my self. Shingles purchased form Home Depot.

    1850 square foot house, 8 years ago, new roof cost me $1800. No laughing required.

    Sorry I'm not rich, $3000 for a shed? $.80 to $1.20 a square foot average for asphalt shingles even with labor you're talking about a 1500+ square foot shed!!

    Wow that's a lot of labor cost. I replaced mine about 6 years ago, did it my self on a ~2000 square foot house for $1800. You sure your don't have your decimal in the wrong place?
