If you choose to restrict yourself to a subset of C++ where you can't use any nice features, then sure, C++ is the same as C. But that's not what C++ is.
Why didn't they hide in that kind of shed or under the rocks next to it instead of going in the middle of an open area? If they wanted to leave, they should have made a better effort and walked much faster than this instead of pausing to take pictures and discuss it between them.
So basically you're complaining because you wrote bad code that only worked due to Visual Studio not following standards and that on top of that you don't know how to read template error messages?
From a developer's perspective, they're the same. You just code with C++ and Clang for both of them, then have to suffer a framework in a braindead language to do the UI.
Swift does not have the syntactical goodness of ruby and python any more than C++. It also cannot challenge C for several reasons, including the fact that it's very slow at working with native types such as integers because it tries too hard to be safe.
I have personally hired several PhDs. Most of them can't code, the important aspect is being aware of it. You hire a PhD because of what he was able to do during his thesis. The ones that can't get hired probably just have done unremarkable work. In my country there are government incentives to hire PhDs, too, so that helps. Look for R&D job postings.
CGI does not use the same technology as games. Games should render fast a d uses cheap tricks to implement lighting, for CGI there is no such requirement.
If you want to always be enthusiastic about your job, simply do world-class software engineering that always keeps you challenged. The first step would be to stay away from Java or entreprisey stuff and work in a real R&D department.
I know I will never buy from Alibaba, and I buy from Amazon everyday. Just like I go to high-end stores and supermarkets but not to low-cost factory outlets.
People with fair skin are from the North, people with darker skin are from the Soutb (or, as said here, the Near East). Is that supposed to be surprising?
Registering a trademark after a common name that is already in use shouldn't be allowed. In the Budweiser case, Europe did its job right, but the US failed.

Steve Jobs was a nerd?

Since when are nerds hippies?

Swift is native.
If you can't answer a trivial question like listing the C++ basic containers, then you certainly can't code at all.
If you put C++ on your resumé, people will expect that you do know it, at least to some degree, and will test your basic knowledge and skills.

Project Euler is more about algorithms than software engineering.
I don't understand what you mean by desktop control and root access.
Care elaborating?

My point is that it addresses a different market segment.
Not all users of Amazon will convert.
Just run Android for x86 if you don't want the overhead of emulating ARM...
That's not normal. High-education jobs are paid by day, not by hour.

Anyone can buy share in an IPO, that's pretty much the definition of what it is.

Business first, politics second.

Was it the beta or the broken moderation system that drove him away?
Can't the US innovate in one of its most prestigious technology universities without importing researchers from Asia?

Try visual novels or other types of doujinshi japanese games.
They're single-player experiences to the core.
Why are you referring to Dark Souls 2 specifically? The same mechanics were already in Dark Souls.
