    In Canada, currently the province of Saskatchewan doesn't observe it.

    Actually, Saskatchewan is always on DST all year round, we never change back.

    You really don't want to know what kinda of a smog contraption i'd be driving past your place i there wasn't a bus to drive me to work every morning. ;)

    possibly theres enuf crap in space that the probes are running into small particles, thus losing speed on impact, and also from greater effect of gravity because of mass = probe + dust

    probably one of the biggest things holding back minidisc is that alot of us are lazy as hell.
    I want to just mount that drive, cp over some .atrac's *faster* than realtime, and be done with it. even if the designers were anal and wouldnt allow copying files off the minidisc and onto your computer i wouldnt care, i just want to get them onto the disk fast, and not worry about titling, or "scheduling" the next dump session of mp3's.

    curious what the total bill came out to if anyone from canada has ordered this thing. given how UPS likes to stack on crap like huge brokerage fees, cod fees on brokerage fees, fee fees, and fee handling fee fee fee fees ;)

  8. pre6 swap-happy on Linux 2.2.0pre6 Released · · Score: 1

    i've found pre6 to be VERY swap-happy, to the extent that once in a while it will swap like nutz, leaving about only 3 or 4 meg of stuff resident, this is on a 64meg machine. doing anything in netscape is unbearable, unfortunately had to buttshuffle over to the win98 box to post this...ugh..
