No. As a person who is an atheist (in the lovecraftian sense), but is naturally religious/spiritual, I can assure you that those parts of religion represent the way a large number of people percieve reality. It may be that, if you percieved this type of thinking in your own mind, you might have labeled it insanity, schizophrenia, delusion. When people say that "the divine light speaks to them", I understand what they mean. However, that doesn't mean I actually believe it is anything but imagination, or some sort of side effect/adaptation of the human psyche. It's not just religion specifically, I can also intuitively comprehend magic and mysticism, and "believe" in it for intellectual entertainment or emotional toying. I simply choose to put my intellect and direct reality perception ahead of this.
It's fallacious to make the only alternative to paranoia total trust. The only way that would be is if you where completely unable to judge signs of (un)trustworthiness. It's very rare for people to just attempt to destroy you out of the woodwork, and I can't even imagine a case that would be non-obvious. Even manipulative psychopaths are easy to spot, if you know what to look for.
I had a teacher in third grade, who forbade the use of the word "superman" because it contained the word "super" (slang for drinking in Swedish.) I was the only one in class who had even a shred of sympathy for her. Later I realized she had Asperger's, without any self-insight whatsoever, and every goddamn psychiathrist I've met swears I have asperger's too. I'm still prone to orange-and-blue humanity-absolved morality like this; if it seems insane, could that be because it is "insane"?
Because your hell-tinted-glasses will drive you towards being either paranoid and/or amoral. Paranoia will wreck your nerves. The psychological consequences of amorality I cannot elaborate upon, because I am not amoral - but the otherwhise non-sociopathic people I have seen that have gone down that path are not the happiest or most stable lot.
They could have gotten away with this scot-free without doing a full internal audit, not to mention temporarily halting data processing. Given the assumption that there's no hidden underlying cause pushing them towards this, it's slightly above-and-beyond in my opinion.
Yes, but that's becuase the "society" they belong to sanction it, and actively push kids towards murder. If it was that easy, we'd be up to our knees in gore.
This is true; that advice is just people who don't understand violence and hatred trying to preserve the status quo. In fact, as an adult I got the direct advice from one of my former "friends" (a black-souled bastard, but not utterly evil) that "violence is the only language kids like me understand".
This might actually be a good idea, but you have to make a difference between those who are evil, and those who are just weak and downtrodden. Blood has a *lot* of shades.
No, this is just the easy path of pure moral relativism. The human mind works in a certain way, and the world physically works in a certain way. Moral relativism is denying this simple reality. Any governance denying these simple facts should be supressed. Religion is a clear-cut example, and should be kept out of decision making, by force if need be.
I am a citizen of Sweden, and I can tell you you're full of high-grade bullshit. Academic freedom here is total and completely apolitical, and innovation is well-funded, inasmuch as the total combined resources of the countrys public and private sectors can manage to support it. Our higher education is not, in any way, worse than the US. In fact, I have a relative working for princeton (a former medical researcher specializing in heart conditions) working on some sort of project to improve and make connections between the education systems of the US and Sweden; he plainly states that in his opinion the education systems of Sweden on all levels are superior to the US. The reason the US has been a leader in science and tech is because of brain drain due to having lots of funding compared to smaller/poorer countries; importing academics schooled in other countries to work in the states.
That's actually a neat idea, but aren't train tracks quite vulnerable to flooding damage? I guess you could make a sandcrawleresque land-train, that would be crazy awesome.
You could perhaps pull it off long enough for the courts to consider it, if you where a really, really dedicated follower of some of the denominations of satanism.

So you basically state that an omnipotent being would need a star to create light? (And so forth.)

You see this, and think "Why didn't someone think about this before?"
Working your life around the assumption that society is, for all intents and purpouses, lawful evil will destroy you in the long run.
Yes, but that's becuase the "society" they belong to sanction it, and actively push kids towards murder. If it was that easy, we'd be up to our knees in gore.
Hah. Most "kids" wouldn't murder someone; if they would, they're usually a lot more than simple bullies.

That only those of good mental and emotional health have the strength to stand up to bullies?
"It's just the end of daaaaays..."

Is this a joke, or are you actually serious?
And evidently, so does the Swedish ISPs.
You don't realize how, well "Lawful" (for a lack of a better word) Swedish society is. This is both a blessing and a curse.
That's actually a neat idea, but aren't train tracks quite vulnerable to flooding damage? I guess you could make a sandcrawleresque land-train, that would be crazy awesome.
Computer security will kill itself.
Yeah, sure, why not? If you can't keep attention, that's your problem.
Think of the children?
No, I was actually going for violence being amoral in the first post. I was rather unclear, admittedly; it's a bit late over here.
