Okay, just got back from seeing the film in melbourne (australia) I have to say I was waiting to be disapointed, avoiding all of the press on the film for the last two years, including stuff on slashdot.
I have to say, yes much better than tpm.
If your having doubts, don't go see it, it is great.
I cant Beleive that this is happening, what is going to happen next, maybe we wont even be able to use any english words on our web pages. What can we do, say if I a member of Joe Public, was threatened by some one like this, I would have no idea what to do.
Try these books: Mists of Avalon the Forest House and the other which name of the book leaves me at this moment, great books with a differnt spin on the Authur Tales, i would recomend them to anyone.
There were aparently two differnt versions, one where maul gets stabbed,and the other version that has him cut in half, there was a discuttion on theforce.net when the film first opened.

Now days I live in Australia, came over here in 83 at the age of 9 from the UK, this is when the hell started.
firstly I was differnt, i spoke funny, couldn't catch a ball (from an allergic reaction from an immunization drug which left me with verry poor motor coordination among other things), went to occupational therepy twice a week, and was tiny.
So my first few years were hell, then off to High School, I thought great, new people, time to start over again, no such luck, by the time I was thirteen, I started trying to kill myself, and what topped it was when the captain of the scool foot ball team raped me, fuck I said it this is the first fucking time I have ever told any one, funny this, then he spent the rest of the time beating me up for been a fag, poof ect ect ect.
any way I have scars, both physical and mental, at the moment I am sitting at work typing this, alt tabbing as soon as any one come in, have to use win here, I just want to say, though I have survived the pain lingers on, some nights I cannot sleep anymore, I am 25 now and these events happend over 10 years ago, well some things never heal, I suppose I am happy now, well most of the time, I still battle with depression, and a few other things, but I now have a girlfriend, and have been with her for well over a year now,
The one thing Is that I am able to have a relationship now is a good thing, but I havent even told her what happed

But for all of this I don't know if in the end this will ever happen in the USA, please don't get me wrong here, I don't see anything inherantly(sp?) wrong with the owning of fire arms but it seems that "gun culture" has become too much a part of the psyche of the USA.
on another note, It seems that people in this world are moving too fast to care anymore, when I went to High School in Aust, (btw I am english) I had a realy bad time, I was what you could of called a "goth" (No MM there though, cure bauhause and sisters of mercy type) and a loner, you know the sort of kid who wasnt good at sport, had a few leaning difuculties (i wasn't diagnosed with dyslexia till I was 17) and well had, well no friends, I was alone, and Tried to kill myself on many an occasion, why am I saying this, I think I just want to say that I survived, 25 this year, got a reasonable job, and just want to say that if any one who reads slashdot, ever needs to talk, out poor their heart about any problem, I listen, I have sat with many people through dark nights of the soul, I as I have survived, want to help others, If anyone needs to talk drop me a line at my work based email address ben@iaa.com.au

okay I am sort of new to linux, and I have to say I like it, but one quick question that I would like to know, how long did it take from the release of the version 2 kernel did it take to get to version 2.36.
Arn't parents ment to look after their children? This seems to be a theme which we see coming from the USA every now and then, much like the judas priest suicide case. "Of cause we are not to blame" ect ect, where did the child who did this get the gun? And now the parents suddenly see the light and see that quake, doom ect and movies like the basketball diarys, made him kill, but what is a child of 14 watching the baskekball diarys anyway.
About this alledged unedited version of pm, I wouldn't want to see it, I have seen unedited versions of films before, and pre editing, they can be well, not very good, also if the effects aren't finished it could look bad.

Water contery to popular belief is NOT I repeat NOT a good conductor, (note I am an Electrician)
now for a little experiment fill a plastic bucket with plain tap water, get 1 hair drier, turn on hair drier, now drop the hair drier in to the bucket.
Now what do you expect will happen to the hair drier, blow up, blow a fuse, kill every one in sight. nah it just sits there churning water, and you can put your hand in it and lo and behold you dont feel a thing, you can even measure 240volts, on your arm with a volt stick.. BTW I have done this.....
