    The issue you are having does not sound like it will be solved by better testing. All you are doing is fixing mistakes which is basically rework.

    You need to increase the quality of the code.

    This is where your biggest cost savings are made as poor quality leads to higher costs.

    Possible, but not likely that 30 minutes is going to be long enough to metabolize the booze to a legal level. If you're right on the edge, then I guess it could happen.

    You could say that you just had a beer in the Pub/Bar which means you have alcohol in your mouth making the reading higher. The police than have to take that into account if your on the edge.

    Actually it's the low torque delivery the reason why the trucks use it. A gasoline engine needs high rpm, so on big engines like trucks, you either used low-revs which do not generate good power or high-revs which increased engine wear very much. Diesel just had the compromise. But on car side, it was power that was needed by consumer, and even today, for the same cylinder volume, you need a turbo-charger for the diesel to get close to the same power comparing a gasoline engine. Only in the last 10 years big developments were made in diesel thanks to embedded microcontrollers.

    Today while I was filling up my 2003 Corolla with gas, a guy drove up to the next pump in his 1952 MG convertible. Which gets 30MPG. My Corolla gets 27MPG.

    I was at a car show today, marveling over the newest crop of hybrids that get up to 41mpg. Wow! My 2001 Jetta TDI (diesel) just delivered 46mpg on a road trip a few weeks ago, and my car is in _rough_ shape.

    Yes thats about right a diesel engine is really fuel efficient which is why trucks use it.
    I think I read somewhere diesel fuel gives about 30% more energy compared to the same amount of petrol.

    Hybrids real reason for development was to meet California's emissions laws the that fact you get similar fuel economy to a diesel is a bonus.

    Having looked after four year olds before there bundles of energy that run into the closed and largest moving object.
    On a bicycle I imagine its even worse a cute non guided weapon of mass destruction. Good luck to the parent who can keep them under control.
    Manhattan's a concrete jungle where else is the kid going to ride there bike on the road ?

    There was no Video Home System when the moon landings happened. There was reel to reel tape, and cinescope, but no VHS until 1976.

    What I heard was the Moon landing was done on a soundstage with a sandbox as a set and Bungee cords for moving.

    1) I sounded sarcastic - I was just responding to the tone of the post which I felt was saying people have an unfounded fear of radiation.

    2) responding as you would a child - I didn't mean to . However I was responding "as above" to the tone of the previous post which came across as to me as "you are a child with an unfounded fear of radiation."

    3) bolding the obvious - I was just trying to make a point as I felt that his posting of "Most areas around Chernobyl are pretty harmlessly radioactive...." was silly thing to say as why would they abandon cities?

    Ah, the typical reaction to to the word "radioactivity."

    For good reason too - we can not hear ,smell or taste radiation and its effects will last a life time.

    any exposure to radiation causes harm it is just a case of how well are bodies able to tolerate it.

    Most areas around Chernobyl are pretty harmlessly radioactive unless you a) spend a long time there or b) get some of the radioactive stuff on or in you and it sticks with you for an extended period of time...................

    I will have to take your word for it. Never having been to the areas that surround the Chernobyl power plant, I would however think there must be a reason why the cities of Chernobyl and Prypiat were abandoned.

    What it does is increase the chances of actually being able to use the chip once it's made. Right now, many chips have to be discarded because they contain manufacturing flaws that (in current designs) makes them unusable. If they can come up with a design that allows flawed chips to be useful anyway, they no longer have to discard all the chips that didn't come out perfectly.

    The 486 SX is a good example - the 486 SX was the same as the DX just that the Floating point Unit part of the chip was disabled. its said Intel did this so it would not have to throw away batches of defective chips.

    Hamming code adds parity bits to data so that errors can be detected and corrected.

    Hamming code detects errors and corrects them and is used in RAID arrays and Satellite transmissions.

    The Instruction set would have to be designed so that when a mistake is made it can be detected, also known as the hamming distance but it could be done.

    Almost every cab driver in New York acts unethically. As someone who lives in the city and takes cabs regularly, I can attest that 95% of them attempt to scam you in some manner

    This is an industry with a history of mob control and immoral behavior. If it takes GPS to help put an end to these things - I'm all for it.

    For the Taxi drivers they get such a small wage that the only way to make a living is to lie and cheat.

    The one country that is the exception is Japan.

    In Japan I regularly had taxi drivers stopping the meter because they had made a mistake or had to get instructions on how to get a particular place.

    The Taxi industry treats drivers like machines. If that machine doesn't make money they don't get paid.

    The system needs to be fairer and taxi drivers need to get paid a fair wage.

    I like classical music. I have for as long as I can remember. My younger sister never did like it as a child and still doesn't today. My parents were never "rich". I think your analysis into what causes kids to like classical music may require some refinement.

    Now tell me do you play a classical instrument?

    I will also qualify what I said that by saying when I said rich kids I meant middle class and upwards.
    These children tend to have access to the teachers and resources that learning classical music requires.

      It is very rare for me to met someone from a poor up bringing who study's classical music.
