  1. This will cause so many accidents on EU Proposes To Fit Cars With Speed Limiters · · Score: 1

Simple scenario. Another car is veering out of control and heading towards you from the right. There's a car behind you and a car to your left. The only option you have to avoid getting hit is to speed up and get out of the way of the car. Oops, you have a speed limiter and now you're toast.

  2. Correction - $4.25 Million, not $4250 on 3D Realms Won't Rush Duke Nukem Forever · · Score: 1

In the SEC document cited in the article the numbers are in thousands - thus the $4025 cited is actually $4.25 Million. Not quite as dramatic a drop from the original $6M cited above. Check the GameSpot article which corrects this mistake.

  3. Re:Only $50,000? on Secret Codes Protect Ancient Torahs · · Score: 1

Sofers spend years studying the laws related to writing holy documents, before even writing a single letter in a simpler document. Torahs are incredibly complex. Imagine writing over 300,000 letter where not a single letter can be malformed and no two letters can touch. Any minor error renders the document invalid.

  4. Re:Third fastest my ass on InfiniBand Drivers Released for Xserve G5 Clusters · · Score: 1

Check back to the last list genius, it was in third place when it was originally built using desktop PowerMac G5s. They're now re-building it with Xserve G5 rack-mounted servers and as the rebuild wasn't finished when they did the latest list, it didn't qualify...

  5. MS never wanted to support Hebrew on the Mac on Israel v. Microsoft, Next Round · · Score: 1

There are word processors that handle Hebrew on Mac OS X very well, Mellel (http://www.redlers.com/) for example, so it's clearly possible to do. Apple ships OS X with Hebrew support, including several Hebrew fonts (in the Additional Fonts installation option).

I've always believed that MS not supporting Hebrew on the Mac was always intended to insure that people don't switch from Windows. They didn't have any agreements like those signed in the US that forced them to support the Mac.

  6. right-to-left support for palm on Complex Language Support for PDA's? · · Score: 2, Informative

Arabic is available here: http://www.arabicpalm.com/ and Hebrew here: http://www.penticon.com/.

I would be interested to find out if any work has been done to get either of these languages workin on the Zaurus.

  7. Video-Blogging Software for Linux or Mac OS X? on Are Video Blogs Ready For Prime Time? · · Score: 2, Informative

Serious Magic's software is really amazing, but is Windows-only. It relies on DirectX and DirectShow to work, so it is unlikely it will be ported to other platforms (and they say such on their web site).

Does anyone know of other software out there with similar features, that works on Linux or Mac OS X?

Some of it's very cool features:

    - on-screen teleprompter
    - real-time green-screen compositing
    - cable news-style overlay text/graphics

I haven't found anything similar out there.
