  1. The fact of the matter is, there is probably a recording of Trump discussing the optics for the election with regards to this payment which means it is beside the point whose money it is. They didnt give Cohen leniency for less than a solid shot at Chump.

All the writing, publishing, editing costs are equal for an ebook as for a real book. "This is a naive assumption on how prices are set". i guess it's like going to 7-11 to buy your groceries, you are going to pay more. Many slashdotters here will tell you that technology makes everything cheaper and that companies are not hoarding the benefits of it. Next time I get into that discussion I will bring this one up. Also, I know a lot of readers. All have tried ebooks, none use them regularly. Maybe you like it, but a lot of people don't.

  3. When you are in public, yes, people see you. But they don't normally TRACK you. People don't generally like having neighbors that peek through the blinds and keep lists of comings and goings.

  4. A little while ago, I was told by a Slashdotter if I don't like Apple's terms and conditions I simply shouldn't make iOS apps. Try telling that to these companies!

I thought distribution of physical books had to be expensive, just from the perspective of the weight of a box of books. So the ebook market sounds a bit corrupt. My family doesn't like them. I don't see the point of buying ebooks.

We have kobo readers, they are collecting dust because it is too awkward and slow to skim pages. Real books are king in our house.

Ok so why should I pay more to get less? None of my family likes to read on electronic devices. I'll stick to real books thanks.

It doesn't say whether the distinction is made, but I've never seen a taxi driver on their phone and that is listed as a major factor. Even picking a powered off phone up while driving is illegal where I am from. The most I have seen taxi drivers do with their meter while driving is to press a couple buttons, and it is always placed where they can still see the road.

Are these apps not designed so that they can only be used when the vehicle is stopped? That is listed as a major factor in TFA so either drivers should be putting their phones down while driving or the app should be redesigned. I would say something to my cab driver if they didn't have their eyes on the road.

Also, it mentions that Uber "obliges (sic)" drivers to take a break, but how can they expect to control that seeing as the whole structure rewards drivers for taking rides and penalizes them for not taking rides? If they truly wanted them to take breaks, then they should be rewarded for taking breaks.

Well, I know a couple of people who did these jobs as their career, and by age 50 their backs and knees were destroyed and they couldn't do those jobs any more. Now what? Our medical care will fix them up somewhat but they can't do those jobs any more.

In a way this underscores the importance of having a verifiable certification for reputable media organizations, even if it is just some small game blogger. The world has stepped backwards in this regard; ANYONE who can post on a social media site can be taken for news. It can't stay this way. In any major sporting event, concert, etc there is an established set of credentials to display. No reason why there couldn't be credentials for this as well.
