    I can understand that. They can move slower too, so would be less likely to miss stuff. It's possible to map a small area accurately, and you control what happens so if there is construction, lets say, the contractors that do the construction can be relied to update the map properly or use markers that are sure to be understood by the cars. You can make sure all the signage is in good shape too, and people are less likely to mess with them.

    Uber or not, it's going to take a long time to work out who takes responsibility when something bad happens and there is no steering wheel. You can't hold a person responsible for an accident when they are always just a passenger and never a driver. It's their property and they should cover it against theft and damage by vandalism and other unfortunate events. But someone else has decided how that vehicle will behave in every possible situation, so a person should not insure for what it does.

    It makes a lot more sense to develop self driving on equipment like that, with few obstructions and on private property, then to develop it on public roads.

    I thought personal responibility was in the fact that you were drunk and you called an Uber instead of driving the first place. Now they want to discriminate againt you for doing that? What bullshit.

    I honestly wonder who these people are, who flit around from place to place, using their laptop 30 minutes at a time. Sip of battery here, sip of battery there. Oops! Battery almost out, I'll just take smaller sips. I don't use my laptop like that, and I don't think most people do.

    No one moves to get a high paying job to live in an apartment. Huge buildings aren't a solution, they are a band-aid. I know kids do get raised in apartments, but they shouldn't be.

    Having too many jobs in one place is a bigger problem right now in the US because that is what jacks up housing costs and increases commute times.

    From what I hear, availability of jobs isn't a problem in the US. Besides, many people move to these paces to get jobs, they will move elsewhere too.

    American cities really need to stop catering to companies that aren't willing to lift a finger to help local quality of life. Amazon raises house prices and forces the less fortunate out. Is there any net benefit to hosting Amazon at all? Are the taxes these employees are paying even adequate to build public transportation to get them from the perimeter they are forced to live into work every day?

    I disagree. I think it has a lot of good theory behind it. The problem is, the 'do more by doing less' concept *really* has to be embraced by the entire organization; especially those at the top. Too often it isn't. If you work in a place like this, removing Agile probably won't help much.

    How many people can afford Seinfeld's apartment as a comedian or any kind of performance art as an only source of income? This is not reality. Furthermore, I know about the Friends backstory, but it doesn't matter. People see TV characters living a certain lifestyle and they want that for themselves, and become disappointed when it cannot be attained.

    Another thought.. recent Slashdot article indicating there are more open jobs then people to fill them, yet many comments indicating that it is still a struggle out there. That's kind of a brain fuck in itself.
