    Seconded. If he thinks computers will have human level intelligence in 12 years, then he might not be intelligent enough to understand, what human (or animal) intelligence is, and that computers aren't on that path.

    No. The first thing to do is reduce the pollution, which is easy and makes sense socially, reducing the number of persons so others can go on polluting too much is an ideological non-solution and makes no sense socially.

    Ah! as I implied, I hadn't thought it through. Maybe everyone could shift by a half hour, but I guess that depends at minimum on whether that would make sense for those living in equatorial regions.

    In case I wasn't clear, I mean that instead of DST being a one hour change make it a half hour change then stick to that as standard time and don't change it anymore.

    Maybe before that we'll have cars, and roads and stuff, talking to each other, in effect resulting in self driving cars, but that's not what people usually men these days by self driving cars.

    2.45 ghz is the common frequency rating for microwave ovens. Food gets heated in a microwave mainly through the excitation of water molecules.
