    Random process => normal distribution = bell curve
    Whoever told you that "random process => Bell curve" was a idiot. Yes, many things are normally distributed, yes the central limit theorem says that sampling many identically-distributed variables will give you a bell curve, but thats it.

    Really. If you get into small groups, or have something whose distribution is non-normal there is absolutely no guarantee that the results will be normal, or even approximately normal. A sample standard deviation, from a small sample, will have an F-distribution, for example.

    A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Next time you want to know about statistics, ask a statistician, not a bloody engineer.

    Planes rarely hit the sea in 600mph vertical dives, at least not intact. If the planes still in one piece on impact, its probably because the pilot is ditching, and your chance of getting out isn't bad.
    If there's catastrophic failure at altitude, you're screwed.Do I really want to float around in the North Atlantic for several days, clinging to a pillow full of beer farts
    It beats drowning.

    Think about the advantages: You get a Royal Family of your very own and no more George Dubblyah Bush.
    Not to mention: sitcoms that are actually funny; the ability to see a breast on TV without totally freaking out and sports actually played by other nations. And the only thing you'd have to give up is motor sport that hasn't banned overtaking.

    So if I set up a motor company in India, building cars with a faint resemblance to Fords, I should be able to market them as "Made In America", due to their similarity with American made cars?

    (Assuming Ford haven't completely relocated to Mexico yet).

    Parmesan means "From Parma", like "Made In The USA" means "Made in the USA".

    The most common addresses I get worms from are usenet@domain and slashdot@domain :)

    But if they rely on someone elses code to write a virus they are script kiddies (which is what this article is about). That's pretty much the definition of a script kiddie; people who use others scripts to cause damage because they haven'y the brains to do it themselves.

    Ontario is in Canada. CAN-SPAM is a US act. This is Yahoo suing a spammer, the CAN-SPAM act is completely and utterly irrelevant.

    In fact, IIRC, the CAN-SPAM act specifically prohibits individuals / companies from taking legal action against alleged spammers.
