Many carriers in the US trucking industry require that their truckers have GPS systems to (a) track their location & (b) make sure that the drivers are taking their schedualed sleep breaks on long haul trips.
Drivers that want to get around the rules, just buy a GPS jammer & blame it on "mountains", "weather" or whatever other B.S. they can think of
But when contacted by CNETAsia, a spokeswoman from BMW Thailand said the car at fault was a
10-year old BMW 520i that had suffered a simple electronic failure.
I know, literacy is dead - but only the new 7-series & a few 2004 5-series BMW's have WinCE.

We all know that the old you get, the more new music sucks. An abuse of this theory would be to convince (older) lawmakers that the RIAA is in denial about the low quality of todays music. And instead of facing up to their own shortcommings, they have irrationaly decided to scapegoat anybody with a PC and an internet connection.
My wife's "orginal" Social Security card (that she got what she was a baby) includes the catchy phrase "This card is not for identification purposes" Interesting how a small detail can fall off over time..
"I have people calling me, crying to me that they're in pain all the time, asking me where they can live," Firstenberg said.

I'm guessing that this guy is unaware that the speaker in his telephone receiver uses a magnet. And chances are that he is probaby so fearfull of EMF radiation from current model phones - that he has gone out of his way to get a +20 year old phone. You know, the ones with the HUGE magnets!
Two years ago NOVA (that pbs show) did a report called "Terror In Space" (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/transcripts/2513mir. html), where they cronicled the American experence aboard the Mir space station. And as you might guess by the name, they didn't focus on the fungi.
To quote the show...
"After fourteen minutes, the fire burned itself out. The next morning, Jerry's NASA support team arrived at Russian mission control near Moscow with no idea that there had been a fire on Mir. The Russians had never informed them."
The Russian space program has allways been extremely secritive, and with tight budgets on the line at NASA, I imagine that they are paraniod about a tarnished public image that could lead to even more budget slashing.
Most of us know by now that modern electronics are very suseptible to EMF interference & the military/nasa are spending the big bucks to protect thier goodies. It would seem to me that IC's using very week magnetic fields would VERY sensitive to EMF pulses. And if the military/nasa realize this, chances are they are not going to pay for the large portion of research, I seriously doubt you will see this technology in the marketplace anytime soon.
It's called a GPS jammer
