There might be more than a few PHB's who start using AOL/Linux at home.
And if they like it, and find it's more stable than M$ stuff, they might be more amenable to considering Linux in the workplace. Which can only be a good thing.
Well, the architecture seems mostly in place now, the developers should be freer to concentrate on performance issues, fixing any remaining crashes, and polishing the app.
Oh great. Cable London finally get round to rolling out cable modems (supposedly in October), and now I find out you can get tivo in this country, but only if you're a Sky Digital customer.
"this culture has by and large rolled over for greedy megacorporations"
On the contrary, many people here are trying to stand up to greedy megacorporations (M$, RIAA, MPAA, etc). It's the public at large that has in general 'rolled over' for them.
Granted, we only seem to be standing up to those corporations which directly affect us as a group, but at least we are doing something.
True, it looks like there hasn't been much activity on there for a while. Perhaps it will pick up once Moz stabilizes a bit more; It must be difficult trying to hit a moving target.
Oh and BTW Suse use .rpms as well.
Doh, that's what --nodeps is for !
Personally I use a mixture of rpm's and .tgz's - tgz's when I want to mess with the code, rpm's when I just want to download something and run it.
Packages can also be very useful when you want to figure out what 'owns' a particular file (specially with things like obscure libraries.)
Have you checked out http://www.linuxwales.com/ ?
I've actually programmed in German. It wasn't very funny.

Heh, you're a funny guy :-)
Don't worry, AOL will probably be giving away free internet appliances instead of CD's. Then you can hack them and have a beowulf cluster :-)
Why have they been putting *so much effort* into making it suitable for embedded devices ?
Is it something that helps you give up smoking quicker ?
Because it's open source ?
Because suck said it would be ?
Because it's not made by M$ ? (heh)
Java being missing is not Mozilla's fault: see this bug report

Try installing as root or changing the permissions in the chrome directories. There have been problems with this in recent nightlies.
You mean I can't do: cd c:\ deltree *.* /y
any more ?
