    We need more Iridium satellites so satellite telephones can get Facebook access. They de-orbit the old ones, so they aren't really adding to the junk up there.

    I mean, as an object-oriented language, Smalltalk is pretty good, but it didn't seem to make inroads outside of IBM supported systems.

    The Apollo launch escape system would also work after launch. They almost used it during the Apollo 12 launch after they were hit by lightning. The mission commander was holding the abort handle the entire time they were troubleshooting the problem. Very cool individual who did not abort when everything seemed to be going wrong, and trusted the ground crew and his shipmates to solve the problem.

    Germany is going all in on renewable sources, you see solar power all over. Which is strange for a fairly cloudy country. It certainly worked this year, since the had the hottest, driest summer on record. But after the Fukushima disaster, they closed down all their nuclear power plants. To make up for it, they have to expand the use of coal and buy electricity from nuclear power plants in France, which has plants right across from the German border.

    It would have helped if the driver had his hands on the steering wheel. And, if he knew that the car was trying to do that, turn off the autopilot on that section of the road.
