    It's existing and proven. The implication that the peer space has not solved this problem seems unfair and inaccurate to me.

    BT wins over NNTP on a large number of grounds, not least of which is the end-user responsiveness which is so desired by stream consumers.

    If your time is not worth anything, convenience does not add value.

    If you require internal certification of the security of a package, then source is your only option.

    I am profoundly pro-nuclear.

    You are mistaken when you say that radioactive
    material requires a certain concentration to
    be lethal. A single subnuclear event can be
    lethal, if it triggers a mutation resulting in
    a malignancy. The probability of such a mutation
    occuring increases in proportion to exposure
    to ionizing radiation. As a result, the
    release of Argon-39 from RORSAT impactors
    will predictably result in a certain
    mathematical expecation of human deaths
    not otherwise eventuated. That number is
    likely to be more than 0.5, which is a
    reasonable threshold for asserting that the
    RORSAT design resulted in loss of life, but
    an accurate quantitative evaluation cannot be
    made without more detailed knowledge of
    RORSAT design than has been publicly released
    so far.

    because OOPrograms don't have flow control.
    The flow just sort of hops around with no
    real relationship between what is written in
    the code and the flow of control. You see
    one of the great advantages of OO'ation is
    that code no longer corresponds to flow of
    control. This is usually called dynamism
    or genericity, but you may also know it as
    job security.

    HTTP *stream* delivers data over a TCP *stream*
    what is different about playing your MP3 from
    a gnump3d *stream* as opposed to playing it
    from a web browser (a playlist being a web
    page, perhaps query-generated using
    php/jsp/asp/mason/etc)? I mean, what
    addutional function or value does it
    provide to use gnump3d?

    One motivation for using the GPL is the identification of speech and code. (I admit
    that it is not RMS' motivation, which is more subtle, obscure, and sophisticated.) Thus,
    I object to your use of the word "never": Many users do in fact intend it thus.
