Check with your local Public Utility provider.
Here in Clallam County, WA Clallam County PUD provides 100Mbps full-duplex Internet or P-t-P connections and is part of Noanet's network.
They use 95th percentile billing, it's not going to be $40 a month, but its not a meager 30Mbps either.
This is pure gold, so if this shows up on store shelves you heard it here first.
Re make Microsoft Bob! Excpet don't give it the same name or tag on an "XP", that would be a give-away.
How about "Microsoft Ballm"
Your interface is a broken-down old house where Ballm (the monkey) helps you find your documents and applications.
You need Ballm's help anyway, because the house was built with non-standard building materials. So there are locks that take keys that only Ballm has that you can't get anywhere else. Also if you want to try and fix the house up, its got screws and other fasteners that take tools with odd-shaped bits that you can't buy anywhere. But luckily Ballm is there to "help" you upgrade you to fasteners that take new tools. Which Ballm will rent(license) to you, he is really strict about not trying to duplicate the tools though.
Will your belongings be safe in your home? You bet! Ballm left all sorts of holes in the walls so you can see anyone who wants to come in. So you don't have to be ever vigilant over your belongings, Ballm offers to help keep the holes safe too. He doesn't really watch every hole though, just waits until someone tries to come/peep in one of them then decides how long he'll wait until he patches up that hole.
The funny fickle Ballm!
hmmm, maybe I will go patent this concept. Surely there is nothing in existance such as this!
The idea that you are going to foil someone blasting their music in most cases is absurd. Who spends the money on an aftermarket sound system, only to listen to FM radio? Nobody wants to hear the latest furniture store jingle blasted at them, and who are they going to impress with that anyhow?
A better use would be to take this in a store that plays a radio station acorss their PA sytem (non sat-based radio of course).
A few easy steps to throw a wrench into the StoreCard machine, and get free crap while you're at it.
Step 1. Sign up for a card, use the stores phone number and address. Make your name the store name (e.g. Safe Way). Now they get all the mail and phone calls.
Step 2. Since most stores let you enter a phone number, give the stores phone number out to as many people as you can. Or ask the clerk the stores number and enter it if you can't remember.
Step 3. Get free crap. Safeway has those little "You have purchased X of 10 towards a free Bagel". Well now you will have lots of people using the same card and next time you buy a "bagel" or whatever you might get it free.
Now...spread this number nationwide via a high-traffic website (hmmmm, which one?) and you can possibly have hundreds of people using one card. Which increases your odds of getting "free crap". And all the while avoiding calls and junk mail.
Attention Safeway shoppers...you can use this stores phone number: 360-457-1461
Look, I know this is "News for nerds" and all the news is tech news. But I get the impression from the discussion that follows such stories that most geeks are interested in little more than these topics. People get whipped up into a frenzy over video game legislation, but would show little interest in other areas where injustices were floating through government. Perhaps it is just an age factor in most cases, but it is just an observation of mine.
Pardon, what I meant was the entire system. All available memory resouces and the like. 486-SX 16MB of Ram.. Games ran a whole lot better when you exited windows. Now while nobody is using 486's for gaming anymore, it still stands to reason, I think, that the less stuff you have going on in the backgroud the more can be used for the task at hand. When 98 has been on for weeks and is all bogged down from memory problems, do you think its gonna run Q3 in 1280x1024 nice and smooth?, even with X-fancy video card.(X as in a variable..not as in refecen to the X box itself)
Wow, the Xbox.. will this catch on like Ultimate TV? I have never really been impressed with MS's games(save Minsweeper). Basically they are just stuffing a PC in a (smaller)box, an X box! X becuase it can be anything, any ol' PC part. I can't see how this will compete with platforms such as the PS2(or PS1). Maybe PC cards would show better performance if they didn't have to share system resouces with Windows, I still wish I could leave windows and go into DOS to play games. The point is..MS is just peicing together stuff and not really developing their own HW. Not that this kind of "inovation" is any shocker coming from MS. Call me misinformed, but thats how I see it.
That reply was offtopic? Its the only of Edward Gorie's Tinies that would fit with Quake. And it was in reply to someone suggesting an Edward Gorey renderer, who posted links to Gorey images.
I suppose if the mods don't know it, it's Offtopic.

Point well made. I was thinking about that myself. Also I must say that Novell's file system and object security blow any M$ junk i've worked with.
I feel this is an excellent book! All I knew about mySQL is that was open source and one of the many weapons in the MS Smackdown. But as far as actual SQL queries I knew not one thing. I couldn't find a good resource online for mySQL so I picked this book up and was very happy. The step by step approach to thgins int he book is nice too. But what I favor is the appendix for the SQL commands. Of course the examples are nice too. This book shows you everything, from just gettign data to administering the database. A book that comes highly recommended to anyone wanting t learn mySQL!
Microsoft.com THE SMELL OF FRESH HUMAN FECAL MATTER!!!

"pf.conf" that is..even the preview button cannot stop my typos.
#CLOUD# <-100Mbps-> *Invisible OpenBSD Bridging Firewall with Pf* <-100Mbps-> #HOST#
Works great, and keeps speed with the network.
A pretty good starter pc.conf is here
OpenBSD is also great becuase of:

CARP

I also recommend any typing book to mySELF, becuase I cannot touch type and usually end up mangling words together or a apart!
