    Possibly because computers and networks can't be expected to infer meaning? Remember, in your search field you've entered no context, no kinds of specifying statements, so you're expecting the computer to be able to read your mind?

    You shouldn't run phantom power on any kind of jack because when you insert the jack the contacts will bridge -ve signal to ground, shorting your phantom power.

    Actually it's the number of women in London who are dateable, if he was willing to adjust his geographical constraints then that would increase the number. Contrary to popular overseas belief London != UK I believe his standards are possibly a little high (1 in 20 are attractive enough), I'd suggest something more reasonable like 1 in 10 or 1 in 5, but he also suggests that the major factor in reducing the number of dateable women is how many would find him attractive (self-effacing) which I think is both relatively amusing and an indicator of how seriously he's taking this report (not very).

    Umm, something like a Neutrik Powercon perhaps? rated for 20A at 250v continuous, although they also have a 32A variant.

    You're wrong, cooling is a major issue in orbit (only radiative cooling works), power would also be a major issue and that's not including all of that lovely high energy radiation you get in orbit disrupting your delicate experiment.

    And I've seen a nice report that states that no more than 20% of the UKs needs could be supplied by wind power, simply due to the frequency issues it introduces to the grid.

    Except, if you set a Firmware password, you cannot boot into Target disk mode, Single User mode, or change the bootable drive. Also, on the new Macbooks, there is no Firewire...
