On the old (pre slim) PS3, you can install Linux legally and without any hard or soft mods. This was also possible with the old (pre slim, see the pattern?) PS2, if you bought a hard disk.
I agree that the no refunds policy is bad, but in the case of Batman:AA, you could've tried the demo before trying the game. That's why they make 'em...
Have you thought this out? Why would flying into a headwind speed up the plane?

It doesn't speed up, it just faces as much air resistance as it would face flying 150 mph with no wind. That's a quite significant value if you want to figure out if your plane is going to break apart or not...
