Untrue. Nokia still develops Qt for use with future phones, both Symbian (which is being phased out in a few years) and cheaper 'feature phones' targetting what Nokia calls 'the next billion' internet users. Nokia has stated the Swipe UI of the N9 is going to live on, and obviously not in Windows phones.
If you're using the library computer for researching internet pornography for your master thesis in art history, that kind of filtering certainly is oppressive censorship. Moving to some other computer, more shielded from view, is just common courtesy. Well, perhaps not so common.
You think I didn't see it was a joke just because you failed to make it funny? You think you're a satirist just because you make a joke about Apple's competition? You fail to see that you're still nothing but a shill, despite paying lip service to what anyone with half an eye can see is plain obvious?
Bullshit. How do you imagine doing away with copyright would enforce that source code is made available with binaries? The fact of the matter is it won't. You're confusing GPL software with warezing.
How do you know the patent license costs more than a WP7 license? It seems unlikely, considering that WP7 phones don't deliver nearly as good hardware for the money, compared to Androids.
Surely even from behind the iron curtain of the RDF, that blatant pandering to Apple fanbois while feigning geek cred must be fairly obvious trolling. Then again, perhaps not.
Untrue. Although I know Foxconn does manufacturing for loads of corporations, there's certainly a lot of phones manufactured by others, elsewhere. I'd like to know which. If you assume by default they're all just as bad as Apple, you're simply taking bigotry to a new level.
Exactly. Because even though we know Apple's workers conditions are shit, we have no idea how other phone manufacturers fare. Like with all other tech in the mainstream press, if it's not Apple, it just isn't a story.
"+5, insightful" for popular prejudices. Good to see Slashdot's echo chamber still being in full effect. That is, after all, what freedom is all about.
Sure, it's a bit more complicated than can be expressed with a single-sentence sarcasm, but the point still remains: even with the a press free from government interference and mafia harassment, there's no guarantee of quality journalism.
To be fair, the press in the joint #1 country Norway, mainly publishes PC opinion pieces and poorly translated copypasta from #28 and #47, so it's not like any of this matters at all.

KDE 4.8 Released

You won't get the KDE desktop UI on Windows XP. KDE for Windows is just the software collection, and since Qt uses Windows widgets on Windows, you'll get KDE applications that look like Windows applications, just not very well tested.
The HUD... will be implemented in all the applications that ship with the open-source OS, although the old menu system will still be available for those who don’t want to use HUD or want to explore the available commands.
We all agree Unity is shit, and you don't have to make up problems to make it worse.
This might make Unity usable. After all, its main problem is that it causes too much clicking around. Like OS X, just a lot worse, half-baked and with solutions that simply don't work with many important apps. This seems like something in the direction of Quicksilver, a shell that made OS X ridiculously keyboard efficient.
Blah blah. Totalitarians always seek to eradicate all competing political power, sometimes with the help of religion, sometimes not. Neither the Russian revolution, nor the French, the Mexican, the Cultural, Khmer Rouge's, etc., were motivated by atheism. As for Hitler being an atheist, probably not.
You'd need to sober them up first. Good luck with that.

Are you sure that four digit UID really is yours?
Probably because 94% of iPhone owners desperately feel they need to upgrade, whereas 53% of Android owners are happy with what they've got.

Sure. Apple invented the retina display! Samsung's AMOLED is just a cheap knock-off! Seriously, you're a despicable fraud.

If you had checked (which takes less than half the time you spent writing your comment), you would know it uses GPLv2.
That doesn't answer the question. Android has more than 20x WP7's market share.

Bullshit. "you could spot the unintelligent ones easily. they 'liked' cb." It's arrogant and stupid, and so are you.

So you don't know what infinitive is, right?

So Hinduism is an atheism now? Idiot.

Sure, with the minor difference that your imaginary atheist lynch mob does not in fact exist.
