nobody really needs to stack a bunch of mercedes under their TV.
having the electronics gear the same size and shape makes it easy to have it all out of sight so your interior decoration isn't determined by the equipment you have.
my isp is rolling out a 802.11b network. i assume quite a few small places are because the costs are low and there doesn't have to be a cut for the telco. i'd hope a big place like ntl would do something a little more robust than 802.11b, but if they sell a little VPN box that does strong encryption to access their network there's really nothing stopping a decent sized 802.11b network from being deployed. and if they say you just need ethernet then a small computer device with just a pcmcia bridge, 802.11b card, small cpu, ethernet, and antenna would be able to fit the bill. it would likely be fairly pricey though, maybe in the $500 range in costs per client. but that is still nowhere near the costs of business grade (anything but 802.11 ?) wireless network links.
mine was irrelevent, sure i by that, trolls aren't always relevant, i'll give you that. just be thankful i don't get to post to the main page, like some other people who post irrelevantly(heh, that's quite a word, if it exists:)
Yeah, there should be a category "Jon Katz proving he's an idiot" sorting by author seems dumb, i mean what if katz actually posted something relevant(sure, its a stretch), then it would go into the news section.
there's even a story somewhere in the archives on it. that said this is a bad idea, email is crap. that and these things would mostly just be spam accounts anyway(that you would be forced to check)
actually, it's illegal to send anthrax via all carriers.
please explain it to me.
god i hate the new annoying checks in slashcode. if i can ask a question in less than 20 seconds there must be something wrong with me.
the United States was at war with Japan at the time.
