We have no way of knowing whether or not an animal has given consent. And there are several mentally unstable patients who would be unable to give consent to marriage as well.
Suppose we enact a law prohibiting people from eating meat. Vegetarians would not complain since they're not affected. Yet the meat banning law is applicable to the entire population - equal treatment. No discrimination against meat eaters at all...
Apple should do what is good for users and what is right. This is neither good for users, nor is it right. It's not about legality or illegality. People shouldn't do business with companies that take advantage of the system unfairly.
Not sure about this. If I install programs on my PC, they can access all my files. I want it that way. It's my job to ensure that I only install from known sources and run software that I trust. Why should phones be any different?
Nolan's batman is no less funny. Short, with an undecipherable fake voice, horrible fighting style, a moping bruce wayne...don't get me started. Jesus I don't know why any comic book fan would like this latest set of Batman movies. But everyone else seems to think they're the cat's whiskers.
I can think of better ways of exiting:D. Sure beats nuclear annihilation, or starvation, or asteroid impact or gradual dying off. Go out with a bang representing everything we stood for eh?
So basically...you can't see any value in this kind of product at all? Let's get the technology going first. We're geeks after all. I'll bother about the other considerations after I finish being excited over the technological aspect.
It's irrelevant in any case because the employee did not hear her say it. And that's the only case either. Here's another:
"A second Iranian American interviewed in the report also said he was barred from purchasing something at an Apple store in the Atlanta area when he was helping an Iranian student buy an iPhone. Zack Jafarzadeh said he and the friend were speaking Farsi when the sales rep denied their purchase. "We never talked about him going back to Iran or anything like that," Jafarzadeh said, according to the report."
It'll be more accurate to say that people have racist tendencies. Those of us who choose to be logical and smart don't nurture those tendencies, so they wither and die out.
In this case though, the Apple employee had no idea that she was going to give anything to Iran. That came out only later. And here's another slice from a news article:

Because he is the one who has to prove his case. The burden of evidence is on him. Innocent until...etc etc. Moreover, this is not the only incident.

It IS. That decision should be left to the customers to whom the device *supposedly* belongs.
Though you need not have a monopoly to be convicted of anti trust. IMHO Apple is ripe for this kind of lawsuit.
Then I guess the law should be against coercion and against being "exiled". Polygamy per se is hardly hurting anyone if everything is voluntary.
We have no way of knowing whether or not an animal has given consent. And there are several mentally unstable patients who would be unable to give consent to marriage as well.
Honestly, I see no reason why polygamy should be illegal.

The whole gay marriage issue seems like such a tiny specific issue to have a problem with.
For a person who is gay, it's probably the most important issue in the entire world.
If you look at it like that, then I don't NEED a smartphone either. Get over yourself.
I need it. Argument demolished.
The GP point is that patents should never be used. Apple used their patents first, and thus they started it.

Except that no one told the Apple employee that it was going overseas. That only came out later.
Sure, I fully support taking this case to court. Let the best side win.

The employee never heard anything of the sort.

As an Indian, trust me when I say that people from your own nation/race can be FAR more racist than anyone else.

Excellent. Except that the shipper/buyer DIDN'T say that. The employee had no idea what the destination of the iPad was.
