hehe, good ol' CS. I myself had spent much of my time on team fortress for HL, though now I am mostly an ET player. quite excited about the new quake wars ET coming out, especially since quake 4 ran nicely on my old ti4200 card.
I think at some point people just realize how much an extra fps is worth... i think that point is when they start paying for rent and utilities:)
do you kids even read the fucking posts, or do they all look the same to you from all your spyware and virus monitors, xp tweaks, and custom registry hacks? wtf do either of your links have to do with S-Video?
yeah, didn't s3 do something like that way way back. or was it matrox? i think you pretty much nailed it, it was geared to gamers with a burning hole in the pocket. doomed from the start. i didn't get a chance to read the article, since it was poorly formatted and between me and you, I had a couple of beers in me, so I was just bitching about the article.
S-Video? I think someone sold you some spoiled Kool-aid. Learn about resolutions before you start bashing. I think you kids are actually scared of OS X... but hey, keep on gaming while the rest of us are making money... keep your mom proud.
BTX form factor? didn't it just come out? it's a good form factor, but in this age of reusing old and outdated inventories to keep the prices down it'll take a year or two for BTX to be accepted. (just like not all cars have side-impact airbags...)
HD video for PC? I'm on a mac, with broadband, so I enjoy HD trailers all the time. Works on PCs too. The problem is not in HD or PCs, the problem is in the low DVD resolution. Once HighDef video discs come about it'll be better. (720p pr0n torrents are pretty popular)
HD optical drives? they haven't even started selling them. WTF?
GMail? sure, it doesn't give you a BJ every time a new message comes in, but otherwise it's pretty nice. (Quick & Dirty)
Dual Grapics Cards? most macs can support 2 displays on the existing card. Windows users can't seem to think that browser tabs are a good thing, why would they want dual displays? (Sure, 2 graphics cards can still work on a single display and share the load, but people who need that, apart from gamers, already have Macs...)
Anyway, I'm not trolling, it's just not a very well thought out list.
well, everyone has dumbass ideas, and I know I have plenty of them. Luckily on slashdot i'm not alone. Some otherwise highly intelligent people believe in ID, can't spell definitely without an a, trust Bush, or use IE... thanx for the explanation.
Exactly what I was thinking. Springs in pairs. Just like our muscles. The nature has solved the problem long ago. All we need to do is improve upon the design with some steel. Of course, if someone has a better grasp of thermodynamics can explain further, that'd be great.
Well, crossbow is designed to release all the energy at once. But if you put a tight crossbow perpendicular to the other one, by extending itself, it would compress the other one. The two balance each other out. (I'm assuming all this, of course:)
Hydraulic exoskeletons sound cool and all, but is there a way to do power-assist through springs? The only power needed would be provided by our own muscles to compress the springs.

Well, as long as we're posting shit I'd like to add that I used the bathroom twice today, had a good lunch and installed a new monitor. I'm also considering making a dupe of this post later in the conversation. What have other/.ers done today?
You make a good point about translating to other languages, but both Simple and Syndication originate from Latin. So anyone using a derivative of a Latin language would understand what it means. Simplex Syndicus. And I agree with the parent poster. Conical waves seem to be used for wireless and audio, as they are acutally waves.
I've heard many reports of this problem, but I didn't mention the problems in my review because I never experienced those issues.
I've got a gig of RAM in my box, though. It stinks that they list the recommended specs at 256 megs of memory. Is there any big commercial game made within the last two years or so that ran well on 256 megs of RAM?
More RAM should almost certainly take care of those issues, and if you like the genre the game will be 'worth' the hassle.
hi, i'll give you a friendly piece of advice. You are under no circumstances to read TFA before making at least one post. It's fine to read it, but you must make at least one wildass guess, and pretend to know what it's talking about.
Second, even if TFA did answer your question, you should again, under no circumstances be apologetic.
i too use konfabulator on my desktop on os x. for some reason i like having the windows be a part of my desktop so they're always there, rather than having to hit a button for a dashboard.
Google is not so progressive when it comes to OS X. They don't have a google talk solution for 10.3, google earth for OS X in general, and gmail doesn't have some of its features enabled (fancy formatting) in Safari.
Hi, a good post, for sure, but your sig contains a misspelling: it should say relevance, not relevence. Your friendly, well-educated leftist friend. If I am wrong, I'm sorry, English is my second language.
What does S-Video have to do with resolutions?
apparently nothing. I stand corrected. I've only used svideo to connect to TVs.
my bad.

Hi Zonk!
I'll save you the trouble:

Oh, wait, we're not. Just fucking with you.
Hopefully both IE slashdot users don't have mod points today.
Now if only I can figure out how to enable popups, disable tabs, and make Safari look all multicolorful and jaggy I'd be one effective mofo.
