I get about 1 in 5 of my posts modded as a troll, but the positive karma i get far outweighs the negative, so you learn to live with the occasional bad moderation. On the flip side, your comment didn't really add anything to the discussion, nor did you make any concessions to give your argument/opinion credibility (quite literally college level english 101). If you'd at least listed some relatively famous blues musicians who consistently put out quality albums the mods would have been more likely to overlook the lack of content in your post and it's inflamatory wording.
Was it a law, or an executive order? I think EOs can be overturned by a simple resolution by the house or senate.... but i'm really not sure, and I'm probably talking out of my ass. I don't recall hearing about it being passed in to law by congress though.
Neat! Thanks! I was born under the Regan admin, but I only vaugely remember debating bush v. clinton in 4th grade, so my history on the topic is a little blurred.
I thought we (The US) doesn't use breeder reactors because they can be used to create weapons grade uranium/plutonium(?), and as a result were permenantly banned by president Regan. Since loosening nuclear power laws is political suicide, nobody's tried reversing that decision in 20 years.
Walmart sells about a dozen HDTVs over $1000 in my area. Probably that many $700+ HDTVs, too. Couple of $550 and $650 laptops... but it's been a while since I looked.
I'd probably buy one on the spot if it had USB and wifi. I know wifi uses a lot of juice, but then you could shoot off emails on the go, or use it in the office attached to a power supply. If that power supply was the standard nokia power connector, so much the better.
if you don't like the fucking spelling errors, you can fix them yourself. top left corner is a link called "firehose". click on that and flag all the stories with errors in them.
Most of those compressors struggle to hit 75psi. We're dealing with 2900 psi (200 bar) @ 450 gallons. That gas station pump (which never work very well to begin with) would be a smoking pile of slag after the first 100 gallons @ 75psi. You might as well lean way to one side (with one wheel removed) and power the engine with the air from one of the tires. You might technically get the car to start rolling forwards towards the intersection, but it'd die before the rear wheels made it in to the intersection.
No. Even top bicyclists have difficulty maintaining 100w for more than half an hour. Even then you have to watch how fast you're pedaling or you'll burn out your muscles too quickly.... it doesn't scale very well, and certianly not linearly.
Also would work fantastically in Texas, or Miami in particular; those little Mopeds are everywhere, especially in the touristy areas. Major downside is that your A/C turns off every time you stop or slow down at a red light.
'Scuse my french, but No Fucking Shit. I played video games when I was in elementary school, middle school and high school, and probably most of all college. Now that I have a real job and I can afford all the rockin' toys I always wanted as a kid but couldn't afford, why the fuck would I want to stop playing all of a sudden?
Hell, me and my buddies will drive in from out of state to hang out all weekend for events like superbowl sunday just to play games together like Gears of War (2 vs 2) till our eyes bleed. One of us set up a quake 1 server and we play rocket arena on our lunch breaks. We're not basement dwellers either; One is married (with plans for a kid), one is engaged, and the other two of us have live-in girlfriends.
This amuses me greatly, as my good friend is a manager of a Geek Squad department and they're not allowed to use open source tools, although he frequently sees them being used (and lets it slide for obvious reasons). I forget the exact reasoning, but it does involve liability to some extent. Apparently stand alone geek squad "stores" in strip malls and the like are allowed to use "more advanced" tools for some reason.
Hm, I was about to reply saying "oh, well if you only did one per second, that would only take X hours." Turns out that even at 2 addresses per second, it's still almost 4.5 million years. Frightening.
Really? I thought the story in IX was fantastic, paritcularly the plight of the Black Mages and their fight for humanity and discovering just what it is. I would rate it at number 2, just after VI's story. FFXII can be interesting at points, but the game mechanics after about hour 6 after leaving the castle with Han and Chewie (can't remember their real names) the mechanics are pretty obvious to the point that the script writers make fun of it durring a sun crystal quest out in the desert "oh, well you have to go get this next. haha, just kidding, let's go back to camp". After that point it's just like playing FF3, a huge time suck with very little pay out in terms of story/plot development.
You don't drive your car forward with your head cranned all the way to the left, so why would you drive it backwards like that? Your drivers ed instructor was an idiot. Try this: place your right hand on the headrest of the passenger seat, and look over your right shoulder, down the middle of the car. Voila! You've now mastered properly backing up. Paralell parking should now be a breeze.
Where is this title? With WiFi, this is the perfect title for the DS system. Nobody ever talks about it though, and Nintendo hasn't mde a peep about it. Is this on the slate for Christmas 2009 I hope?

Way to post vaugely! Care to bring any tech to the table? You didn't provide a single googleable keyword in that entire post beyond RIAA.

It's myspace.com/soybuddha . He's my roommate. He's a professional web developer. Used to work for an online ticket broker.
Nice threadjack!
...but used as a commuter car, they'd be lucky to hit 40mph durring rush hour.

This post is almost interesting, but totally useless and contributes nothing to the conversation. Unfortunately, my mod points expired yesterday.

Go rent the movie Oldboy. Now.

Hm. You obviously never had a subscription to Nintendo Power durring the days leading up to the N64's release. Two words for you: Load times.
I believe that was the incident that led to the death of the Knoppix STD in geek squad.

Hm. Source? Sounds very interesting, but I've never, ever heard that before.
