Windows Vista will definetely support Atom at least this is what Microsoft developers say.
From Longohorn RSS team's blog:
That check-in completes Longhorn support for the different syndication formats. The grand total is: RSS 0.9x, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, Atom 0.3 and Atom 1.0.
However, just to set expectations, we locked down on Beta 1 of Longhorn about a month ago, so the release of Longhorn that will be public soon won't have Atom support, but the bits we'll have at PDC in September, and in Beta 2 will have it.
I guess people are now going to do quite a lot of copy pasting with other documents to find what else can be extracted from the officially available pdfs.
1. if you are good at anything you will not have any trouble finding something else to do. 2. if you are good at what you are doing at work - you will not be fired 3. If you are not good at anything then why do you expect some one to support you?
You might say that "it's easy to change your default search engine" but it's not always easy for the average user to do this. And Microsoft are hardly likely to make this any easier.
Yes it is easy, just wait for the next windows security whole and write a worm which changes a couple of registry keys to set default search engine to somthing like www.google.com
As far as I understood from the article the author does not advocate writing software in ASM. He is merely advocating learning ASM in order to understand how to write efficient programs in high level languages.
Which does not actually make much sense for virtual machine based languages such as Java and C#.
This sounds like a good way to ensure accountability on who made what changes, and when they did it. Linus says the SCO debacle "have provided a "big impetus" for the changes", this will make sure similar legal action can be shot down immediately.
No, similar legal action cannot be shot down imediately, because SCO did not identify the infringing code for a very long time.
You wouldn't believe me, some guy just phoned me and asked me how much a 20 GB Hard drive weighed when it was full with information, compared to when it was empty.
I told him that it was only a few pounds difference.:)
You can send and receive messages up to 10 megabytes (MB) total. Any message that exceeds this limit will not be delivered to your inbox and will be returned to the sender. If you attempt to send an email that exceeds this limit, you will get an error message and your email will not be sent.
I have been recently promoted. And I am now doing less technical stuff and more organizational stuff:) Guess what? Technical stuff is much less stressful... You are just doing your stuff and that is it.
This guy is a nut: http://www.nothingisreal.com/mentifex_faq.html
Oh I know this one:
if IBM is paying you to use Linux, Linux TCO will be lower than that of Windows.
However if MS is funding your Windows usage - you will obviously have lower Windows TCO.
And in another news Bill Gates anounces that he is going to change his name to Bill Windows.
FrSIRT post!
In relation to the point 17 about the DB which is free as in speech and as in bear :) can you provide name/link?

Now it would be nice to get 5$ each time data is corrupted by this backup system.

Would it be possible to crate a script for writing auto replies to the scammers? You know, the one which says:
,
Dear
I am very interested in doing business with you. Can you send me more details?
So that scammers waste their time on trying to write replies and at least lose some of their time?
Sure it is not Evolution, it is Outlook that takes care of ordinary users' scheduling needs. :)

Those 350% might explain why I get so much spam... I am sure I have been receiving only about 100% of spam about a year ago

Taken from gmail help:
What's the maximum message size limit?
Answer return to Help Center

I think you forgot the third group - random strangers (probably it's only me)
Yes, I double that. I have never succeeded switching from vim to xemacs.
Not only bosses want to hear that. I would like to hear that MS profit next year is going to be only 1 mln.
Hm... 3 500 000 / 30 / 24 / 60 / 60 = ~1.4 hits per second. Is that a lot?
Some people working on free software are paid.
Just take a look at JBoss, MySQL, Linux kernel developers.
It is not necessary to have both "free software" and "out of work" in the same sentence.

It would be interesting to see a chess match between Linus and Bill..
Uau, there are so many people willing to buy those licences, that I cannot even connect to that so called "shop"
