I have to say I haven't really been pulled into the genre. last rpg I played was Baldurs gate and the one before that would have to have been a mud, but I know enough people who have played it and still have lifes..... your just wishing you had one right?:)
I have vary "rarily" seen any rpg made for kids mostly for those of us with a 14-16 year old mentality... and who are we kidding?:) P.S. has Bioware ever done a kids rpg?
well your point is well taken but your timing is off unless you are refering to the differance between I and IV. I and II are only a differnce of 5-10 years
karma is worthless.... as for the FBI, I see your point:) though I doubt that they would use something like this in the Post-McCarthyism era. how about instead of saying "there are books on my side" you actually quote something.....
well I have to say I don't represent most of what you hate in America. I am a active volunteer, I voted at every single election since I registerd on my 18th birthday, I traded in my corperate paycheck to work at a non-profit aids foundation and I sign and have started many petitions to try and stop government control of the internet perhaps your use of the word "you" refers to America which I would almost agree with. but that is true the world over. Most people are chickenshit. nuff said:)
I find it amusing that you aren't even willing to reveal who you are. I realise that it is great to speak with anonimity while whisle blowing and other such things, but you flame and flame away as Anonymous coward. I admit I look at porn. and I think everyone of my friends would admit it to. my wife doesn't seem to care to much either. Exactly how are they supressing ideas? you seem to affiliate the United States with Nazi-era Germany quite a bit. I really don't see the corelation? where is the urging of the government to put a certain race or religious sect in jail or to persecute them? where is the urge to build up the arm forces? I believe you are thinking of the Cold War era... one last thing? where the hell does it say that we can't look at porn?
WOW! you know what? almost every other country in the world has also done gun control as well. as for free speech, I say what I want to but my own host here (I don't own my own backbone in hte country) is a buisness and gets scared by lawyers, not the government. I would have to say that I do know my own history and that while much of its history is sad, our atrocities our much less then most other countries. As for the drug laws, I am very much for them but that is my own opinion and very much biased after having one friend OD and my sister being hit buy a doped up drunk driver. I'm not saying that USA is great but I sure as hell rather live here then most other places in the world. as for my realitives dying in world war II, I know of 6. all except one of tmale population over 12 at the time of the war died to protect their freedom. 2 were shot trying to sabatoge a german tank in Norway after the invasion, and several others were killed when they fought with the RAF after fleeing Norway. the one surviving male moved my mothers family to the US and my grandmother moved my Fathers side to the US. So I frown, at your inability to see that we are you.... atleast some of us. you say "Those Americans..." and I say "think globably and not so narrow mindedly". thinking that everything is bad will not help anything. Stop complaining and do something
The irony is that the "opressive regieme" which you rebelled from in 1776 is more free today than you are now. Tsk, tsk.
hmmm like their right to bare arms.... yeah that must be it.... the only place where our rights are limited truelly is online and who really gives a shit about that? if I want to say something that I don't want touched I telnet into a offshore shell and host it there... I can also go yell at my congressman and have him listen. people might complain about their rights being compromised by the governemnt but its actually just some stupid companys. the government will figure it out some time and fix it (call me optimisitic). notice that BAIR deals with censorship that your parents can implement. if they are implementing it you are probably a 12yr old boy who has been caught one to many times looking at porn by your mom. (MODERATE -1, FLAMEBAIT)
A few things now adays qualify for automatic buys for me (regardless of reviews). Clarke and Assimov books, Blizzard games, and the first coffee I see in the morning. But even if I might not enjoy this as much as I do some of his other books I think this might be the "Brave New World" of 2000 as it seems that privacy is our main fear (for us geeks anyway). I assume it is well written and I will buy it probably this afternoon and download the Book on Tape from napster:)
well What I am thinking of is true immersion where you don't see or hear anything else other then this concert... perhaps a sensory depervation tank with awesome Hifi equipment but you are right the Vibe is what is really missing.
As a Ex-concert violinist and a great music lover of all types, all I can say is it isn't the real thing. Perhaps in the not-so-distant future, when PCs can handle the 100 terabyte/sec downloads something close to the real thing can be apreciated. but there is so much more to alive performance then just audio and sound. I mean CDs have very shitty sound even on very expensive high fidelity equipment compared with going to a live performance, and they want us to be happy with mp3s? I think this will be to agonizing to hear. until you can record a audiovisual concert and play it back locally after touchup and make it seem like you are actually there why try and make it seem that you are actually there 1000 miles away? this is just way to fire ahead of the times
A good friend of mine known online as Realityman was one of the two original authors of UltraHLE (the first working N64 emulator) was flowered with gifts andcards from quitea few manufactures who wanted to share the glory of his next version...(coming out sometime soon). and guess what... NV pretty much asked the same things, complete with logo placed inside the "Help" menu and on startup.... lots of fun:)
well do they expect us now to buy their shitty 14 song cds with one good song on it for 12 dollars? I say make napster freeware and open source and then see if they cab shut it down... does anyone else find it difficult to find rgeur favorite song on single without having to buy 55 minutes of filler?
ok this really pisses me off( trademarks)

Trademarks are very iffy in my book andthey really piss me off . especially when people trademark other peoples work or word then cash in on their invention. I think I am going to trademark every word in the dictionary then make a fortune by suing publishing companys for trademark infridgement ($5 dollars for every time they use the work "the"). I know it doesn't work that way but still trademarking anything that you didn't do first just really pisses me off.. anyway I think I am, probibly missing a few legal aspects of it but please tell me what is stopping me from doing the fore amentioned plan.
look at asia , one of the most poluted areas of the world and then look at suburbia USA.... yeah yeah whatever you say might cause it, I think its called cable TV
since when does a corperation enjoy the same rights as an individual?!?!? I mean come on. I can see that not limiting a persoal use of the phone but I mean come on!!!! If My corperation has your phone number and war dials it with a pre recorded message that is illegal. what is the differnce between this and common telemarketing practices? the only difference is that the prerecorded message is replaced with a $10/hr person who hates them self for what they do? just my 1/2 cent
I think this one eluded me till now. it would always be nice to have a free PC:), even if its to late, I was wondering what were the complete specs on the machines that they were supplying I heard someone mention K6-2 chips, could anyone tell me the complete package of what they "gave" to people hardware wise? thnx in advance
Though I only read one of his books, it is a sad day when a real writer passes away. in a period of enless series of books with a minimum of 3 authors to a book, Pulp-Sci-Fi is at a all time high. I wish a new Asimov or Clarke could take place of these Book-a-Day writers.
There was recently a post about how if Microsoft did not release its Media Player for Linux it could possibly hurt Linux as Micrsoft was continueing to give out its programs for free for future profits, and destroying Real Player's portion of the market. Though there is still no written plans for Media player for the linux operating system (that I have seen), is it that Microsoft sees that cornering the streaming media market as something more important then a chance to lower linux's ability to compete with windows?
I say Yes! plan on it coming out sometime within the next 6 months and within 2 years expect the server portion of the streaming multimedia program to no longer be free. (there is a price for everything).
Well great they can download the data from our brain. but they need that stupid executable to make it work. I mean if you look at a microsoft cab file you might be tricked into thinking it having some potential but its not really "microsoft" till you install it. Same goes for this, you might have the datafiles but somehow I doubt that the sum of the data is going to be the whole person. more of just a "command not found"
sorry but for some of us English is a second language... but as some other people noticed you seem to have the same ability to have typos....

I firmly believe that if they were truly unsafe, the big companies would not have released cel phones to the market.

speaking of which anyone want to sign up and see if we can get 158 billion dollars out of sprint after a few people die from the cell phone frenzy?
