    Another short-sighted aspect of this is that in time, outdated memory tends to go up in cost while newer memory goes down- considering the life of consoles this could end up being a real burden.

    I guess it depends on what you mean by 'bad'. Epigenetics gives an organism a tremendous adaptive capability- and like it or not, under severe environmental pressures 'crime' does pay.....

    That's funny you bring that up- was raised Orthodox Presbyterian but am now agnostic at best. However I am respectful of others religious beliefs and tend to do that myself.

    I guess it depends on what you mean by 'adaptive'. We can make a jump here and assume that abuse and stress will cause your offspring to have lower intelligence- making them more able to survive under those conditions.

    Rare earth minerals aren't rare at all- they are just costly and polluting to process.

    Also with a lack of geologic processes such as volcanism and water I doubt minerals will be concentrated anywhere.

    Seems like more of a publicity stunt than anything.

    Dice has had the same 'old' look and feel as long as I remember, and they aren't trying to hamstring the site with an improved interface. The beta slashdot is a smack in the face to technically minded people.

    I would have to say that is one of the biggest advantages of solar- the engineering is very straightforward and it should be very easy to determines costs and liabilities. Insurance should be very inexpensive as well.

    That's the rub though- there is not 'white' identity. What is the culture of an Appalachian coal miner -vs- middle class suburban dweller outside Boston? Does this include Mormons? White doesn't really mean much anymore other than some kind of way to obfuscate a conversation- much like the term Hispanic.

    The most impressive thing I saw from Apple was their laser printers, which were one of the first for consumers. The gui was neat but seeing a computer produce a physical thing that looked so good blew me away....

    There have been a lot of comments here about lesbian couples but there have been many similar cases ruling against sperm doners that have not used a doctor or whatever the requirement is. The lesbian thing is a distraction.
