I think this is one of the reasons for mature code in older developers- you just can't do the mental gymnastics any more so you make things clear and simple:-)
Google is known for hiring the best straight out of academia. How many people were working at Google 10 years ago? Those that performed well are now making top dollars in management. I don't think you can read anything in their age range than what describes a growing company.
How is electricity a resource beyond an environmental one? If a city outgrows it's electricity source it raises rates to build a new plant. An internet provider has to pretty much do exactly the same thing if it runs out of bandwidth.
And cheap drives this for me... I have no problem with usage fees if it means that someone who uses internet to check their email and a news site or two pays very very little for doing that. There are tons of people that pay way too much for their very low usage.
Using sharing as an analogy- suppose you are sharing a park or a basketball court. If someone hogs the resource charging for it so you can finance a new park makes sense.
It's not as simple as that. When I was in engineering I always spent time with the salespeople and management and got the pick of the projects coming down the pipe. In exchange I gave them good technical input and advice that benefited all of the developers.
I have to give the producers and directors props for not sexualizing the Harry Potter series any more than made sense in the context of the films. One could hope they would do the same with Dr Who....
I think lack of intelligence is an advantage in certain cases, like being in a highly oppressed or abused state. We know that abused children's brains are 'trimmed' of neurons which I would assume is done to promote survival- intelligent people would be more likely to commit suicide or go crazy in these circumstances.
We also live in the age of 'if you can think of it then it has probably been done'

I am going to be taking PMP training next month and I am thinking that Dilbert is going to be the manual.

And I suppose the person writing the article is well informed and completely objective.
A little skepticism is in order.

Marked funny but this will probably put an end to people offering open connections from their house.
I would be very surprised if there wasn't a negative correlation between wealth and TV viewing.
...and the vast majority of it is forgotten.

Yup, all the deals and decisions are made in the hallway.
Biofuel burns YOU!

An inverse relationship between fun/creative/interesting/mentally-stimulating and pay is almost guaranteed in just about any field.
Thank you for summarizing TFA which was way too long.

BOO!
I would attribute all four of these to lack of experience, not to a lack of a degree.
The electricity costs whatever it is worth at the power line, regardless of the source.
The problem with electrolytic hydrogen is that electricity is expensive, not that the process is inefficient.
A years worth of survivalist food is 700$ and a simple matter to procure.
Don't romanticize about the 'old days'!
Most poor people own an entertainment robot, it's called a PS3 or XBOX.
It the number of people working in agriculture is any indication then yes, machinery did ruin agriculture jobs.
