    It is more that that though- it is adaptability. A race that can be war like but also can be caring and nurturing is going to be more likely to survive than a race that just does one or the other.

    I hate to say it but most of the 'criminality' we see in humans are really just survival traits that are useful for ensuring survival if there is a breakdown in society.

    This is what differentiates appliances from a PC. What are people expecting? Why should Sony waste time and resources on optional firmware updates? Ultimately the additional cost would be passed on to consumers.

    Well maybe they didn't want to spend money validating these configurations, so instead of dealing with the headache of customers creating unsupported configurations they make them physically incompatible.

    I can understand- 99% of cpus are never upgraded, so why should INTEL waste engineering resources on the 1% that do?

    I don't want an artist working on my teeth, I want a dentist!
    If you haven't noticed already the term art has been so misused that it doesn't mean anything anyways.

    Why not be satisfied that video games are video games? Why can't things just be what they are?

    So how are they supposed to grow their business? Of course, new and more expensive treatments that drive up costs so they can skim even more.
    Contrary to what many believe, insurance companies want costs to keep increasing as long as they can jack up rates.

    There aren't many inelastic systems in nature like the example you have given.

    We know that water and plants will absorb co2 faster if there is more available.

    When I started out in IT I had my own site and domain email but got tired of maintaining it. If anything having a named domain email makes you a nOOb.

    Not to mention the analogy in the original article is kind of silly. How long did it take for electricity to become pervasive in rural areas? 30, 40 years? And yes, there are still places in the United States with no electrical service.
