I don't think we'll see a Linux disc for XBox for a long time.
Nobody seems to be getting very far in the XBOX hacking scene (www.xboxhacker.net)
It looks like the XBOX has more security than any other console out right now. Which is too bad, because I *really* want a DiVX and MP3 player for the XBox, and it has more than enough power to do it.
The included xbox.vxd in the program is just a renamed Quake file
The xboxkrnl32.dll is a file from the Trilliam messenger program.
I'd run a virus scanner if you ran this fake emulator.
Only running on the XDK

It's pretty old news. This is only running on the XBox developers kit. Even if it was running on an actual XBox, I don't think they'd be allowed to release it.
The XBox lists on the memory screen that it has 50,000+ blocks.
Someone on alt.games.video.xbox tested theirs by loading as much music as they could onto the system. They were able to fit about 312,000 blocks worth.
Finally, I challenge you to point me to working hack of the Terminal Services Internet Licensing connector. I dont think one has been made. And the system has been around since day 1 of Windows 2000 server. Thats not "instant".
Crackers only crack programs that they want to use. I don't think the average warez kiddie will want to use Terminal Services. However, they will want Office, so they'll most definitely break it.
"I suspect that the reason most people are angry, and most will be angry, is that this will require many, many companies who steal software to pay for it. If you want to use Open Source, free products, thats fine, but 9 out of 10 people who are bitching about this steal their software."
I doubt this will affect piracy of Office at all. Once your copy expires, you could simply go get a serial generator and extend the date. Or you could just pirate a cracked copy in the first place. If someone wants to pirate software they will, and this won't change a thing.
Gnutella is definitely not just a tool for stealing. There have been many times when a very popular new game demo has come out, and it's too slow to download anywhere. So what can I do? Get it from someone on Gnutella. Stealing? No.
FTP can be used for transferring copyrighted material. Is it just a tool for stealing? HTTP can be used the same way. Should they be shut down?
Sony's also getting rid of the iLink/FireWire/1394 port, some people used this for linking multiple PS2's for multiplayer.
Someone is purposely crashing the network..if you start it up and click on stations, the streamer program will crash.
They're sending bad data as new station hosts. Hope he fixes this soon.

There's an emulator for old LucasArts games that use the SCUMM scripting system.
http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/
There's also a port for Pocket PC. I've been playing Day of the Tentacle on my iPAQ with full speech. Runs great.
So far, it doesn't appear to be a virus or trojan. Just a harmless hoax.

The Xbox will have Halo.
System Shock 2 was created by Irrational Games, not Looking Glass.
