I think you mean my boss doesn't want slack because it doesn't have end to end encryption... We recently switched from Jabber to Skype because Jabber keeps IM history and that is considered a security risk. So instead we get to deal with hit or miss desktop sharing and file transfers, and often not being able to properly connect to the servers any given morning. I think the issue is mostly with our IT, not Skype, but I do know Jabber was dead stable for years....not biased at all.
You should either stop making up word definitions, or start using a better dictionary.
Better dictionaries could help... Google dictionary comes up with the basic definition the GP quoted. Having worked with aviation sensors I tend to think of bias more as it is defined for sensors:
"If the output signal differs from the correct value by a constant, the sensor has an offset error or bias. This is an error in the y-intercept of a linear transfer function." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
In this case, and in the case of a lot of computer programs, bias can be generated that has nothing to do with human prejudice and has everything to do with bad inputs, a poorly designed algorithm or low quality electronics, among other possible causes.
Yes, but then the app can sue you, or at least sue your app, leading your app to sue their app in an appy loop of appy app apps.
Apps!
Perhaps the whole legal system will devolve into some kind of app-based card trading game, or if someone sues you, you can send Charmander in to court to fight for you.
Maybe we can create a recursive loop that will destroy the whole law suit system!
We're talking about a community college here. The students don't want to know about concepts; they want to know how to put a word in comic sans because when they go for a job interview they aren't going to be asked about concepts. They're going to be asked if they know how to put a word in comic sans.
Doesn't matter what they want to learn, if they can't adapt over time to new skills necessary to the job they wont have a career that lasts more than a few years.
This is my approach to programming. Often the class is to teach Java/C#/etc but I try to teach first thinking critically about how you want the program to work, then how to write it in the current language. Doesn't work with everyone.
at best trump is riding Obama's coattails after Obama fixed the mess bush left. And all indications are trump is screwing the economy up overheating it with money supply. His bad decisions take a while to catch up.
Just curious, how is Trump providing too much money supply? From my minimal understanding of economics, the fed is more in control of the money supply via their interest rate. If Trump has no political control over them, as I believe the fed has claimed, he is not the one controlling the money supply.
public transport can never be as good as owning a car.
Traffic jam vs subway.
Traffic jams in my city show up about once a month and cost me maybe 10 minutes on a half hour trip. No subway where I am. Busses only come within three or four miles of my house, even ignoring that the bus route requires switching busses in mid trip, walking a mile to the connector and waiting an hour for the next bus.
Personally I'd love to ride the bus to work and use the time to get some work done, but in the past 15 years, public transportation here has not improved in the slightest.
The things with guns, it is easy to kill (or injure) someone on a moments impulse, it is easy to kill someone at a distance, it is easy to kill someone accidentally, it is easy to decide to kill someone and kill them. Knives, bats and such only have some of these problems. It's hard to knife someone in fit of road rage and even when the bats come out, usually no one dies. Not too often that someone accidentally kills someone with a bat or knife. It is a lot more personal when someone does decide to kill someone with a bat or knife and running and such is a more valid defense against them.
True but that doesn't explain why after banning guns in England, they now want to ban those much safer knives.
You can play soccer with any vague spheroid, at least when you're a beginner. Even at the highest levels, there are multiple vendors for the necessary equipment. In essence, traditional sports are open source. I will accept e-sports as sports when the games and the requisite operating systems are Free software.
Open source game, works on open source language Linux and there are multiple brands of computer that run Linux. If the game isn't good enough for you, why don't you just go fix it like you would any other sport...?
the operating system is similar to having a large enough patch of grass on which to play soccer. Somebody's gotta pay for that.
But if a city wants to put up a regulation size football pitch in a public park, FIFA has neither the right to refuse permission nor the right to a royalty.
Well the number of DUI deaths are way down since enforcement picked up along with a change in overall attitude towards drinking and driving.
The change in attitude toward guns is what I would like to see happen. Though if I'm being completely honest, I have no clue how to make a change in attitude over guns happen. While I hate the blame the tool mentality, I really don't have a better answer to the problem.

The Sovereign Citizen movement is going to love this.
Can I use the app to sue the app?
The 'AI' is that all texts from hubby that contain the word 'sex' get a 'NO!' response, all other texts just get a 'no'.
I have this great new "AI" tool called RegEx.
Yeah, but you said respond "no" to all, not respond with appropriate denial of all my great desires =)
If my wife gets this phone she can reply "no" to all my texts without even having to read them.
Who needs "AI"?

Wild guess: you're a CS student/grad.

You really nailed it the second time! I think I speak for everyone here when I say I'd like to see what the third post would look like!!
Then I retract my apology for the dup post and apologize for the original post =)
"The reason to move on: courage. The courage to move on and do something new that does more to line the executives pockets."
Translated that for you.
Hmm, the first one didn't show up even after I refreshed the page so I thought I failed to hit submit. My apologies for the dup...

Then why do leagues end up selling their souls to publishers by choosing Overwatch or some other proprietary game instead of YSoccer?
Because despite the comments about wanting sports to be free, if it isn't in your back yard, it is probably all about money.

So why isn't my tax money going to metro OS?!
Not to mention, ban one thing and they will use another: https://www.independent.co.uk/...
No where near the US levels of gun crime but already people in England are calling to ban large knives to solve the problem...

You'll notice that in cases where the person dying is not the person drinking, it often is illegal.
Good thing making it illegal has been so effective!
Have you never dealt with edge cases in your career? Have you always thrown your hands up and said "ohmygosh, toohardtofigureout"?
One question, is the GP providing the edge cases, or is the article providing the edge cases?
You can have a 1,500 calorie dinner from McDonald's for $3. That's $555 per year.
Not to mention no need for money during retirement after the heart attack.
