I don't agree with a cashless society. Especially with the way student loan laws are right now. I get a 15% garnishment, my tax return is taken, and my bank accounts are under constant treat of being routinely pilfered by the US government. I make $13.50/h but could only secure part time. At the end of the month I have about $980 when it's all said and done. If I store any cash in my account I get a nice letter from my loan holders. I recently decided that I had to do something about it. I started storing cash so I can go to a CDL-A school to get a CDL-A that will allow me to get a better job capable of paying off my school loans. My monthly loan amount is $1,648.26 and total is 50K with 36K in late charges and accrued interest while I was unemployed. I went to ITT Tech and learned the hard way that a good college doesn't need commercials. Oh, and school loans are not discharged in a bankruptcy. Not even a Class 7 in 99.97% of all cases.
Needless to say, this wouldn't be a possibility if the US where cashless. I'd be stuck in low tier jobs the rest of my life with my only debt increasing faster than I could pay it. It's a loan holders wet dream.
We also avoid mandatory login/activation, integrity checks that cripple game play, having to setup an online account for an offline game, and we don't need the disc in the drive. Talk about convenient.
I remember making a bug report for Morrowind. It was a 100% always crashes the game method. After I posted it, all I got was a slurry of, "You dumb $&^%, who cares if that crashes the game? What! are you trying to prove the game can be crashed?"
I was like, WTH? Why bother making bug reports when all you get is flames? Granted, it's unlikely that a normal person would stumble upon my bug, however this bug may have been related to several hard to duplicate memory leaks that where never solved.
I swear Obama is trying to get assassinated. First the bailouts, then the cross attitude when AIG decided to sue the government, now siding with the RIAA. On top of that, the economy sucks and he wants more taxes and an increase to the deficit. No wonder his caravan has a fully automated defense torrent. Well, the good news is that no one will ever reelect him. Just four more years and we'll have another power hungry politician in office... Man thats depressing.
Like all good idea's this one will become a nightmare for people. If you have ever use long term anti-depression drugs you know what I'm saying. Insurance companies will not insure you, nor can you get Life insurance policy's. This may save your life, but if you can't get a job or insurance, what quality of life are you going to lead. This is great for that top 5%, not only can they live longer, but they can decide if your just too high risk. Just like a neuron net, great idea, but who is in control and how much data are they allowed to have... Then years later, after they sue for the rights to have all data, your life is not just over, but that same monitoring equipment prevents suicide as well. There is no escape from hell.
The war destroyed buildings and factory's that Japan had. The result was the ability to rebuild all the older technology with U.S. funds and technology.
It was on the history channel a few months ago.
You really should consider getting a DS SD Card/3 in 1. I have all of my fav SNES/Gen/GG/GB/GBA/DS and a bunch of home brew all on the same card. If only some one could find a way to emulate N64 on the DS... That would complete the DS heaven. That and X-com 1 and 2 as DS games.
As for the PS2, after I got mine modded and started using HardDrive Loader, it wins hands down. FF12 looks amazing and shows the potential for newer ps2 games. And putting the cd book away in exchange for a single 250gb hd is priceless. Not to mention a whole lot faster. I heard that theres even talk of a ps1 emulator for the ps2 so I can put all my PS1 titles on the HD too (With save state no less, beats pulling the cds from the cases to play them).
However, I am not a ps2 fanboy. PC is the god system here, all other systems must make offering of burn toast and jelly as all other systems bow before the pc.
