    31 confirmed cases of voter fraud since 2000. 31 out of 1,000,000,000 votes cast. Voter fraud is a lie in the US.

    Well looking that the sites that that search brings up, I've decided that Snopes is still pretty trustworthy. They are all just seem to be political hack sites that themselves seem overly biased.

    I'd be interested in an actual source if you have one.

    You don't have to give up anonymity, at least not according to the io9 people (the sci-fi site under the Gawker umbrella). They are encouraging everyone to just create a throw-away twitter account that is only used at io9. Whether this is acceptable to twitter may be another story...

    I think the "compensation" referred to in the OP is not overtime pay, but better benefits, higher salaries, bonuses, etc. i.e. if you work 80 hours a week, it'll be worth your while. If the OP did not mean that, then they should've.

    I know it is trendy & hip to not spank your children and I disagree with that -- I do spank my children on occasion and I can usually tell - from the behavior of other kids in their classes - which parents don't

    If you block facebook.com and fbcdn.com, then you cannot use Facebook. Using these plugins or smart adblocking filters, you can still use Facebook, but stop Facebook from tracking you on non-Facebook pages.

    If you use ad-block add the following rule to get rid of Facebook widgets on non-Facebook sites:

    This can be done for any annoying thrid-party site:

    ||*.twitter.*^$domain=~twitter.com|~0.0.0.0

    &c.

    The movie studios do not care that the MPAA looks like goons and everyone hates them. That's what the MPAA was created to do and that's why the studio keep them funded: they take all the bad PR on behalf of the studios. They are a front to take the bad PR.

    I don't plan on using it, but I registered a few accounts preemptively. I've got a few people in the world with the same name and when other search for it, I don't want them confusing the other person with me. I can use the Google+ accounts to link to my preferred on-line presence.

    So they should bill themselves as a place where "regular people" meet? I don't know that anyone would show up. If you're looking for like-minded people, regardless of area, you have to search/find/look for some noun - might as well make it a fun one.

    You may have missed the phrase in the write-up that makes highlights the difference between your father's garage and this place: "...crawling with a diverse crowd..." This is where people who build stuff can meet and talk about building stuff.
